The Chaos zone

So what do you wanna talk about? this section is for ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING, i made this because personally, im tired of following rules. Rules suck. Badly.

ANYWAY... GO TO IT!!! :bunny:

time for another tangent!

apparently when the ps2 came out in Aus the government was worried about the possibility that it could be used to hijack into military installations. such chumps.

GOOD! you corporate american dogs deserve to be beaten by Japanese cars. :P

now, how long will it be before the us government starts to subsidize the industry, or make up massive import tariffs to keep american superiority?

A long time. Our government is to pompous and proud to do that anytime soon. But you can also say that having a superior car industry will make us have more to be proud of.

why? they've done the same thing with wheat and other imports, i dont see why they would be any different with cars. and i think you missed the sarcasm of that last statement. Japanese cars are winning because they are better value for money, if americans made better cars, then people would buy them and you wouldnt need the government to help.

If they made a more sucessful hybrid, and expanded more outside of the US, they would probably do better then they are doing, but would still fall short of Toyota and the other Japanese brands.

And they wouldn't do it because its cars, one of the things that America has been superior in for ages. Subsidizing and adding tariffs would be admitting that they had been defeated.

Wait, wait wait...the US is supposed to have been superior in car-making for ages?? Wow, stunning statement...
(Or is it true what someone told me, that most US-Americans think the car is an American invention, and Mercedes, BMW and Audi American brands?)

Also, I think that the Japanese don't have better technology, rather they use technologies that are popular with people and produce them at (relatively) low cost. Frankly, other than the hybrid, I have diffidulties in finding really new innovations of the Japanese car-makers.

There ARE already quite high tariffs on imported cars, by the way?

This doesn't sound chaotic enough. You all lose.

Prepare to feel the wrath of the chupacabra.
