Consulate of Red Sox Nation

So did I. I can afford to now that I'm out of school and not working.

Heh yeah, I've just got so much to do around the house. Bah, sleep is only a big deal when you can't get it.

Inc-red-ible Fact: Once upon a time Utract led the Anarchist opposition to the government of RSN…

1. Winstonopia quits

Winstonopia has resigned all his positions in Red Sox Nation. His reasons include lack of activity and recruitment problems. He wants the region to find a new direction, and thus is attempting to solve RSN’s difficulty in acquiring new nations by leaving.

2. Judicial Act overhaul in progress

A major amendment to the Judicial Act is underway in the General Assembly. It is expected that court procedure will be clarified, and many legislative inconsistencies ironed out.

3. Position of Vice-President removed

A constitutional amendment to remove the Vice President has passed. His powers will be split between the President, who will become the new elected admin; and the Internal Affairs Minister, who will deal with the VP’s other duties. The amendment will come into effect next election.

1. White Council Gone!
Finally after much argument the White Council has been removed. It took three General Assembly polls to get it done, and in the process many insults were hurled, and several court cases fought. Was it worth it? Only time will tell…

2. Judicial Act Reform Making Progress!
Progress is being made with regard to reforming the Judicial Act of RSN. It has been decided to split it down into four separate pieces of legislation:
1. The High Justice Responsibility Act
2. The Court Procedure Act
3. The Criminal Law Act
4. The Readmission Act
All these Acts are still being debated in the General Assembly, and there is a major dispute as to whether or not the Criminal Law Act should be split to create an additional separate Punishment Act.

3. Election Nominations Begin!
Nominations for the January 12th Elections have begun. At the current time they stand thus:
President: My Urinary Tract (2), Georgdem, Teredona, The Southern Acre (2)
Internal Affairs Minister: Teredona(4), My Urinary Tract, Georgdem

Presidential Address
Citizens of RED SOX NATION, I would like to draw your attention to the departure of quite possibly the greatest statesman RED SOX NATION has ever seen, and someone who I consider a close friend. He is a man that in his career in RSN laid the groundwork for the region that we love. One year ago, he came to this region, made this forum, and with myself, Winstonopia, and Urine, began the regional government. In his career he served in many government positions, including bieng the first President, serving as First General, and as Internal Affairs Minister. He also coauthored all three regional constitutions, started political parties, served as Premier of the Cellist Party, and then using his tremendous leadership abilities, drew the region together again through the Unification of the Realm Act. Beyond his monumental government exploits, he brought personality and flavor to the forum. His sense of humor and quick wit brought many a smile to many faces. And his display of writing talent brought a sense of sophistication to the region not found in many NS regions. Sometimes I think, where would the region have been without him? But then I realized the answer is simple, nowhere near where we are right now. I hope that we have not seen the last of him, and that he will return someday. But until then, good luck and godspeed Fergus my friend!

News Bulletins
- The Alliance Act has been amended to remove references to the White Council
- The Forum Act has been amended to finally sever links between the Forum Secretary and Government.
- The Archive Act has been amended to create a separate Foreign Affairs Archive.
- A new Presidential Responsibility Act is currently at the polls, in preparation for the final removal of the position of Vice President.
- The Foreign Office is engaged in Consulate negotiations with The West Pacific.

RSN Citizen In-Depth

Well, it’s that time again; time for me to invade the personal life of one of our very own RSN citizens. This weeks star is someone whose name is well known around many regions, and who has stayed dedicated to RSN since its humble beginning. It is my pleasure to welcome My Urinary Tract to the paper.

As always, I’d like to start with a bit of background on you; name, age, location, current school status, current job status, any hobbies or interests that you have, favorite color/food ect.?

James Tugley, 18, Oxford UK, languishing in year 14, unemployed.

I write and I read. I use the internet excessively. I fiddle with computers excessively. I entertain an interest in bomb making. I brew up cheap booze when I can get away with it. I like drinking and pipe smoking.

Favourite colour: Red
Favourite food: Lamb Doner Kebab
Favourite drink: Calvados
Favourite smoke: Brindle in my Red sandblast Nording pipe.

It is my understanding that you and Alyss are good friends in real life, is that correct?

Yes.

Going on the information he gave us last time about how the two of you arrived at RSN, how did you discover RSN and what made you decide to settle in here?

Win sent me an invite… I thought he was a girl, as Red Sox seemed like a girly name for a region… So I followed my dick. I had been in Alyss’ region Urda, but it was going nowhere, and when I left with my puppets Alyss followed and promptly created a forum and started organizing people.

I stayed for no real reason. Alyss was on and at first is was just out of politeness… I had ditched Alyss’ first region, so I decided not to do it again. And I had nothing better to do… The place just grew on me, I got to know people and became attached.

It has been said that, over time, RSN has gone through many drastic changes and you with it. How would you compare yourself in the beginning of RSN and yourself in RSN now?

Well, I am very different. At the beginning I was dedicated to challenging the government and creating an anarchist utopia. I created the first papers, and basically all the did was take the piss… In the end I wound up a few too many people, contributed to driving out an active member (Paul Bower) and wound up being sued for slander. I took a two month break, made a plea bargain, then came back.

I then discovered the BC and started a campaign against it. It was obviously unsuccessful. At that stage I realized that if the majority are stupid you just have to put up with stupidity. I still dislike the idea of the BC and the hidden RG area, but tbh I can’t do anything about them. I resolved instead to regulate them, and I was the architect of the Declass act. After that I went straight. Competing for govt positions, joining the RG, producing good informative papers… and here I am. I’ve done it all, and now I believe I am in my prime.

So, UTract, do you have any big plans for the up coming year?

Yes. Taking the presidency, which is really the only thing I haven’t done in RSN… Continuing to streamline and clean up our legislation… Getting on with being here, really.

RL, I shall have to get a job, do some school work and generally start organizing myself for uni… if I get in…

I am also going to make some radish vodka and produce my own beer. I want to get back into bomb making, though in a slightly less evil way. And I’m going to quit using windows once and for all.

What do you plan on focusing on in the university?

Archeology.

One more: How long do you see yourself being a part of RSN?

I see my self continuing to do everything I'm doing, but from a position of formal responsibility, and accountability. I have had it easy recently, not having to be responsible, now I think, its time I took some responsibility, so that you lot can make sure what I am doing is for the best.

And there you have it, ladies and gents, UTract in a nutshell. Thanks for reading, and look for the next piece in a few weeks for more information on our interesting members!
