You Might Not Know...

YMNK that forum spam is the philosophical debate of the 21st century. No really, hear me out. Once their was philosophical debate, usually between old men with beards who wore dresses. And this was good (the philospohical debate I mean, although bearded men in dresses is good too). Onward time marched, bringing about a faster and faster way of life. From this early beginning sprang the sciences, politics, and much goodness of human endevour. But there is a problem. The world has become too fast. Continual media coverage, increased demands on peoples lives, the desire for things faster and better. Philosophical debates has no place any more. People don't have time to consider these things, and discussion are only ever initiated by people who have already made up their minds. The mental challenge, the struggle and the victory are taken out of human life, because no ones opinion can be changed. This was a cause for concern. There was, as they say, much gnashing of teeth. Until the internet forum appear. Great, people said, a new place for debate. But they were wrong, on the internet, even more so in real life, peoples opinions are set in stone, debate occurs just to hear the sound of ones own voice (or keys). The gnashing of teeth was much increased. Until forum spam appeared. And it was good. To the uninitiated it looks like random drivel, and in its simplest form it is. But evolve it has, to become the ultimate game of one up man ship. The mental challenge, the clash of minds from distant corners of the land. The skills of maintaining the delicate balance, the flow of a thread, the subtle use of quotes, gimmickery, imagination, insult and compliment. It truely is the modern philosophical debate. If Socrates was around now, he would be Mr UberPostWhore.

YMNK the most foolish thing to do, is to believe anything you read on the internet.
