World War Looming?

Just out of interest, I would be willing to offer my services to Dalimbar as a ambassador to the NPO -- Just in case, ya know, wanted someone fun over there :P

You know what strikes me most of all about this thread? Whilst I might not agree with some of the sentiments in here, it is really nice to see that TNP just grew a big pair of steel balls.

Well, after having another one of those interesting discussions with Moo-Cows, I only can say that nothing has been achieved. He does want it to be known that he does have the same level of authority in NPO in regards to Foreign Affairs as I do here in TNP. He just wanted that pointed out.

Now, I have resisted saying much either way to them. I am wanting a clear mandate from Cabinet Ministers about the issue before I do anything. So, my question to the Cabinet Ministers is this: Is the Minister of External Affairs allowed to reestablish relations with the NPO?

I motion for that question to be voted on. Anyone wish to second?

I'd vote to continue discussions if you feel a vote is needed, I know it's bad diplomacy if its rejected but I'm totally comfortable with you negotiating a peace treaty or embassy agreement and checking in with us for confirmation (with the PM's blessing of course.)

Fed, I can go either way myself. I made a promise in the last election to consult the people and government of this region regarding foreign policy, and this is what I plan to do.

God, I wouid have hoped you guys would be jumping for joy that you are being allowed to help decide something together... I guess I am at this point wrong.

The joys of being MoEA, eh?

Golden Rule: "People are lazy bastards"!!

Essentially, they all want a say until they have to do something then it is "but that's your job, isn't it?"!!

I have no problem with you reopening the Embassy!! But I guess that won't surprise Sniffles either!!

Do what you have to do Dalimbar, don't wait for the rusted wheels of "democracy" to turn!!

In the end it is your choice, of course, but I think we can open a consulate with them. But as JAL said, I don't believe it should go any higher than that. If they're willing to re-open relations, I'm willing to do the same, at least so that it's easier for us to figure out what the hell they're up to.

Now the next thing you should do is upgrade the PA's consulate to an embassy - see what reaction THAT gets. (joke)

Regrettably, I committed the faux pas of re-opening the Consulate. I thought it was to be re-opened at their request and Moo-cows posted that ours was opened on their forum. I sincerely apologize for jumping the gun, but at this point I think closing it pending a Cabinet vote could create yet another international incident.

*Chuckles* I do keep some autonomy of my Ministry, just some of you don't know it :P Given the recent statements that autonomy will be increasing.

Back to the table I go...
