Kearns's blog

Today I woke up. I watched Sportscenter. Then I remembered how much I hate Sportscenter. So I made myself some cereal, without the milk. I hate wet cerial! After that I was still hungry so I ate some tuna salad. I was sad because I used too much lettice. So I threw it out, without thinking of the STARVING CHILDREN IN BANGLA DESH :( !!!!!!!!!! Then I packed some clothes. After that I was bored so I looked at myself in a mirror and marveled over my beauty. Then I went online and did some unsavory things and then started my routine of flipping through NS forums in my favorites mindlessly. Good day.

Finally someone who can blog properly!

Today I woke up and had a bagel with jelly and butter. I ate the bagel plain, the jelley out of a jar with a spoon, and I just stuck a stick of butter down my mouth to see how much I could fit in. I ate the entire stick. Then I felt a little sick, so I decided to wash my car in 45 degree weather. I also polished it. Now the hubcaps are nice and shiny ^_^ After that I had lunch, which for me was cereal without the milk. Then I went on NS, played with myself, etc. I began to feel hungry later in the day. I think I had hamburgers but I'm not sure. Now I'm hungry again so I might fix myself sherbert later tonight. Notice how I never said I got dressed.

The end!

Today I drank some milk, watched the O'reilly factor, and ate some things off the ground.

The highlight of my day, however, was changing my avatar. My featured American Hero is Conrad Burns, Senator from Montana who's up for re-election. It's a tight race primarily because Burns accepted $150,000 from Jack Abramoff and switched his votes appropriately. He's still moderately popular though (and is leading in the polls) because he has perhaps the most conservative voting record of any Senator, and he advertises himself as such. So I of course love him :P

Today I got fed up with my ISP, Qwest DSL, and called the local cable ISP... which will mean I won't have reliable internet access until this Wednesday (sp). Qwest seems to let me connect for 30-60 seconds before disconnecting, which effectively prevents me from using IRC, downloading music, etc. <_< The tech support is clueless as always and wants me to buy another modem... kthxbai. When the cable is activated on Wed. I should be back in full force... sigh.

Awwwwww... we missed you JALby

OK, new rant.

A few days ago I took my mother's Audi into the only local mechanic who knew anything about German cars. The car wasn't starting properly (took several tries to get it running) and I was told it was a problem with the anti-theft system and I needed to take it to the nearest Audi dealer, 150 stupid miles away, to get this fixed. Fine then.

Today I drive down to Bozeman (home of the Audi dealership). I am told they need to order new parts, and that I would have to take the car back and leave it for a couple days. This entails having mom follow me down there, driving back home, then driving to Bozeman once again and back home two days later. For a total of 900 miles. <_<

Living in Montana sure is interesting sometimes...

At least they gave me a free breakfast, and the car a better wash than it's had in months. Oh yes, and they tried to sell me (college student) an Audi A8 for $52,000. :duh:

Just in case anyone is wondering... I'll be gone again this weekend. Going to Missoula to meet with dad (whom I haven't seen in over a year), so w00t. Be back late Sunday or Monday, dunno which yet.

Need I remind you of the Yankees' 26 World Championships? And the Mariners 0 World Championships? :P

In fact, about the only time the Mariners actually pwn the Yankees is when we make a bet on it *grumble*

Interesting fact:

At work I was calling liquor stores to find whether or not they were interested in the products the company I work for offers and I noticed something interesting. Despite not at all being densely populated, of all the states we had listed, I believe Montana was 3rd in the total number of liquor stores. Interesting.

New York, I believe, was first with Texas in second.

I had quite a scare today. My mother was hit by a car and nearly died. She'll live, but she won't be walking quite some time. Both legs are broken VERY badly, especially the left one.

So yeah, that was my day :-/

Well, mom's doing well. Heh.

New topic/rant.

My father has been planning to move to California for a while now for various reasons, but is putting it off until after Christmas, now. So I have to find a plane ticket. Fair enough.

Except that Expedia says the cheapest flight I can get is $700, and it's a 13 hour flight with a transfer in Boston. That's through JFK. If I fly through LaGuardia, it's $740 at 11 hours. This is to fly to Montana, I should mention. I didn't bother checking Newark as it's simply to far for me to bother.

So now I have two evils from which to choose. I've had horrible experiences with both, so I'm really in the mood to rant now >_>

JFK is interesting in that it's accessable only from the MOST GODAWFUL ROAD EVER: The Van Wyck Expressway in Queens, NY. More like Van Shyte Expressway. But anyway, I was six years old flying to Dublin by myself. Taxi got stuck in a traffic jam that lasted for several ****ing hours, making me late for my flight. I get to the airport hours late for the flight. "Go back home and come back tomorrow when the next flight leaves." "Can I make a transfer at London or something?" "No, go home." I knew this was BS as I had flown with the parents at least once per year prior to this and was very airport-savvy for a 6 year old, but whatever. Bah. Didn't have a cell phone either - 'twas 1992. So then I started crying since I couldn't get their ****ing payphone to work, but thankfully a stranger made it work for me and I had my parents pick me up. <_<

The next time my family flew, we naturally flew through LaGuardia. This was from New York to Montana. Except it was winter. We were caught in a "snow storm" that "dumped" a whopping two inches of snow. The airport literally shut down. WTF. Apparently, their de-icing equipment wasn't working fast enough or something. So they kept on delaying our flight an hour at a time, for a total of 10 or 11 hours. I kid you not! We did get out of there that day, which was better than JFK.

This next incident was, once again, at LGA flying to Montana. Flight was delayed for an hour or so, but that's ok. Grab a breakfast with mom to kill time. Get backa half hour later to find the plane had already left. WTF LAME OMFG. I specifically remember mom KILLING the poor guy at the desk, so we actually got a couple hundred WHOOP DEE DOO FREQUENT FLYER MILES OMG!!!! We ended up staying with my aunt in Seattle for a night (delay caused us to miss connection from Seattle to Montana). <_<

Then, I moved to Montana. So all flights were from Montana to New York. Maybe I'd have better luck? No.

I was flying into JFK with a transfer in Atlanta. Apparently, there was a security scare at JFK, so all incoming flights were cancelled. Spent a night in Atlanta. At least the airline paid for the hotel and even gave me a lovely food voucher, but that had nothing to do with JFK. Really, it was Delta picking up JFK's slack.

So now, I have to choose between these two awful airports and pay an arm and a leg for the pleasure. Ugh. <_< <_< <_< <_< <_<

Just bought a ticket from LGA at my aunt's suggestion (she used to work at JFK). Apparently, more than half the flights from JFK are to Europe.

Anybody want a nonstop to Berlin for $200? :eyeroll:

LOL. Drive me up to Montana, then :P

EDIT: And don't even get me started on the number of times I've been left stranded in Salt Lake / Seatac waiting for a blizzard to finish in Montana. <_<
