Consulate of The Pacific

The delay may be due to the fact that none of the split posts violate IF TOS or forum rules!! I expect a rather long bow to be drawn and used as justification for denying your request to have your Consulate return to the state you wish it to be in!!

Hersfold sent me a PM stating various reasons for the posts remaining outside the Consulate.

He made several false claims, including primarily that Doppelganger requested a thread split by posting "please stay on topic". That is a lie.

He also stated that off-topic posts are a violation of the forum guidelines, which they are not according to the forum guidelines that are visible to us regular folks. He is arbitrarily applying rules and guidelines that do not seemingly exist.

He has also stated that a comment by The New Duce (a character in the game) directed towards Flemingovia (another character in the game) was a false accusation and thus a violation of ToS. This is a lie. IF ToS do not apply to RP'd characters or personas. I know this from several attempted claims by some here during the NPD days. This is a tactic that was used by Twoslit and one of the reasons we are on this forum today.

Needless to say, as the predominant diplomat from The Pacific taking part on this forum at present, after having made several clear requests that all posts be returned here I will once again ask the government of this region to step in in the hope that the administration does not dictate here based on shoddy and unlisted guidelines.

This forums guidelines for reference:

Welcome to The North Pacific! We hope you will enjoy your time spent in our region, the largest in NationStates!

While posting here, please make sure you adhere to InvisionFree's Terms of Service. Yes, we all know that nobody actually reads the TOS when you register, regardless of the fact they make you check that little box. But what they want you to do as a forum user is to not post anything profane or illegal. If you've got any questions about what that may entail, check out the Terms of Service by clicking the link at the bottom of the screen, or send a PM to an Administrator (anyone whose name appears in blue on the member list). We'll be happy to answer your questions.

So again, have fun, and thanks for coming to The North Pacific!

I left off the signature and image size requirements as they are not at issue here.

In light of the opening of a Pacific Army consulate by the north Pacific I hereby request that this office be closed until further notice.

I am sorry you feel that way.

As Per your request, this consulate is closed. It will be reopened any time you wish it.

With permission from the Senator of Intercontinental Enticement and Provocation of the New Pacific Order, I am opening this consulate to allow the Emperor of the New Pacific Order to post a statement regarding the actions of the last few nights.

I also don't understand TPA's having a consulate and agree with the NPO's sentiement...but if you don't mention it *looks around*, I think the PA's consulate is going to be practically deleted with inactivity.

This is correct.

It seems that I was not fully informed regarding several events that have taken place here, including some private conversations regarding the status of this consulate and that of the Pacific Army. Minister Dalimbar and Senator Moo have been working on this situation quite diligently for some time. I simply missed the memo.

I therefore acted rashly in requesting that this consulate be closed and should have at the very least asked that you take the time we allowed our friends in the west to address this situation fully.

The west has made their decision and while I disagree with that choice it was theirs to make, I will leave the choice to the north as well.

Thank you.

I suspect it's the choice of supporting the NPO or supporting TPA...

It would be great if one side or the other would drop the cloak and dagger routine. Even as a minister I'm stumped.

Perhaps the esteemed ruler has not been aware that a consulate here does not mean we acknowledge them as a legitimate regional entity but simply that we allow them a place to post on our forums with news from their organization. Though I may be wrong, I think you would agree with me that it would be more effective to demand, through the means offered in this thread, that The North Pacific recognize you as the official ruling government of The Pacific and open up formal relations between the two regions. Perhaps The Pacific could then come to an agreement with our Minister of External Affairs where we would agree not to ever open formal relations with the so-called Pacific Army.

It is the opinion of The Pacific's government that recognition on any level is still recognition.

While I am well aware of the fact that Pacific Army is an independent region within the NS world I am also well aware of the fact that the only reason it was created was to oppose the sitting government of my region.

I have no reason to believe that policy has shifted and no reason to believe PA, or the remnant thereof that still exists, will not be first at the door if a game glitch effects the Delegate situation in The Pacific.

So you’re more or less trying to strong arm a choice of either the NPO or the Pacific Army is that correct?

Do you really think that’s wise to do granted the large level of inactivity in the PA and the fact that (or so I suspect) a loss of diplomatic relations between NPO and TNP could be a major blow in how our two regions view and act towards each other?

Finally, do you plan on taking any sort of military action against TNP if we continue to keep the Pacific Army's consulate open or choose later to enter a deeper phase of relations with them?

Thank you for answering my first question as to what it is that we are choosing. I'm still not clear on why the NPO is of the opinion that such a choice is necessary.

*Fedele runs his hand up PA's leg

"I'd like to enter into some deep relations with you..."

I don't think that is it, BW. NPO places a large emphasis on feeder sovereignty. I think he is simply saying TP would cut the already thin relations with TNP. Actually, I went onto Pacific Army's forum and there hasn't been any real activity in months. I don't even see why this is such a big issue. Why is it you care so much about a simple consulate? If we gave them recognition as a legitimate government of TP that would be one thing but you are saying they should not be recognized at all...? If they have a region on NationStates, what more do they need in order to be recognized as being in existence?

This is similar to the recent situation that has arisen with Gatesville, in which Concosia exists solely to bring down their destruction. As such, GV views any region that has anything to do with Concosia as an enemy. I believe this was accepted by you in your agreement with them.

There is no difference here. The Pacific Army was formed with the sole intent as to bring democracy to The Pacific, something that has never existed. When this latest incarnation was revived, it was stated on their WFE and on their forum as one of theirW goals as well. As a result of the controversy, that was removed from the WFE, but not from their core values. In irc, back in the fall or early winter, one PA member said, "If we had the numbers, we would go in and take the PRP down now."

It matters not about their activity levels; we have seen a few times in this game how a game glitch can completely change regional government (a game glitch removed Goddessness from The South Pacific, and the mods let it stand and her government was destroyed) as well as how one nation can completely change the face of a region (Pixiedance in TNP).

The Pacific Army is a stated enemy of The Pacific. That should be sufficient reason for our position.

As Minister of External Affairs of The North Pacific, I have a quite difficult decision to make regarding this issue. After hearing various opinions on the matter, several nights stressing about the issue, and also evaluating the decisions of other regions, I have arrived to the conclusion that unless the New Pacific Order wishes to have a consulate along side one of the Pacific Army, then I have the unfortunent duty of informing the New Pacific Order that current relations between The North Pacific and the New Pacific Order are now closed.

To the opinion of this Minister, I have felt that this particular issue reflects a need for our region to be able to stand on our own two feet, to decide who we want relations with and when. I have stated this many a time to representatives of the New Pacific Order, The North Pacific will stand for our sovereignty. I have heard from some people I have talked to ask "What does The North Pacific owe to the New Pacific Order?" I ask myself the same question, and I arrive with blanks.

If the New Pacific Order wishes to re-establish links with The North Pacific, then my door is open and I will listen to your requests. However, I will not listen to discussions that try to make my region do something we do not particularly wish to do. We have fought long and hard for our sovereignty, and I as a Minister of The North Pacific will continue to work for the sovereignty of our region.

I hearby request to the New Pacific Order that the Embassy from The North Pacific to the New Pacific Order be closed, and the Consulate of the New Pacific Order to The North Pacific will be closed as well.

To give a chance for immediate response from the NPO, this thread will be left open until this evening, when I will close it.

I do not believe anything further needs to be said really.

The north has proven once again that it is inconsistent and hypocritical.

The logical progression of choosing a player created region created and designed specifically to oppose the government of a fellow feeder baffles me.

Blue Wolf II, if I wished harm to the north I would still control the Delegate nation.

This consulate is re-authorized to be used as the Consulate of The Pacific and is recognized by both the New Pacific Order and The North Pacific. Welcome back guys :)

On behalf of the Pacific Senate, I offer our full support as you contend with the unendorsement campaign begun by The Lexicon as well as their declaration of war upon you. It is times like these that feeders must stand together in solidarity to oppose any such actions to challenge the the will of those who choose to live in TNP or any other game-created region.

We oppose any efforts to unseat your rightfully chosen delegate, and should you need any help or assistance, simply ask.

Well, this is a wonderfully pleasant surprise. On behalf of The North Pacific, please convey our dearest thanks to the Pacific Senate for their support. We will certaintly let you know if there is anything you can do. Thank you all very much again.
