:P None of my friends know Broadcast or The Delgados. But I fixed that problem. You...you....British-type.

And I'll cheat with the Pixies if I feel like it.

Additions:

Either/Or - Elliott Smith
Central Reservation - Beth Orton
The London Suede - Suede
Know Your Onion (single) - The Shins
Relics - Pink Floyd
Human Amusements at Hourly Rates - Guided By Voices

NO. :P I still haven't said Saucerful of Secrets, or Atom Heart Mother, More, Ummagumma, Obscured By Clouds, The Final Cut, Delicate Sound of Thunder, the Zabriskie Point soundtrack, A Nice Pair, A Collection of Great Dance Songs, Works, or Pulse or Echoes.

Well....you have now... :P Anyway, I was joking, but that is a lot of Floyd for one thread.
Hey Byardkuria, I already mentioned In Utero. See? In TNP, people still don't listen to me.

@ Cak - Can't exactly throw any sort of postulate out with only 1 data point, sir. In any case, as good as In Utero was, if you want to talk pure grungosity, it was thoroughly trounced by Incesticide.

And I forgot - Wu-Tang Clan Wu-Tang Forever

EDIT - flannel beard

This is getting to be quite the list but there is one group I can not believe has been passed over so far:

The Beatles - White Album

also:

Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath (without it there would be no metal)
David Bowie - Changes
David Bowie - Ziggy Stardust
Uriah Heap - Magicians Birthday
The Eagles - Hotel California

In the reins by Iron & Wine
Alienating our Audience by Mindless Self Indulgence
You'll Rebel to Anything by Mindless Self Indulgence
The Woods by Sleater-Kinney

I'll think of some more, but those stick out.

@ Byard - if you wanna talk grunge, I can't believe you haven't mentioned Superfuzz Bigmuff and Early Singles by Mudhoney - probably the finest exponent of its genre ever, and released before the term was even thought of...

Also, I can't recommend Tournament of Hearts by the Constantines highly enough, I've only just heard of these guys, and they are amazing. I could describe it is Indie with an Alt.Country twang, but basically? It's just decent rock music.

Other things I've been listening to recently include You Are Free by Cat Power (wow, I'm smiling and feeling sad at the same time type music) and Destroyer by Low is just teh r0xxx0r!!!

I may repeat some of the suggestions made already, but I really cannot be bothered to read what has come before.

The Queen is Dead - The Smiths
Vs - Pearl Jam (It's better than Ten, and I don't care)
( ) - Sigur Ros
The Moon and Antarctica - Modest Mouse
Our Endless Numbered Days - Iron & Wine
Either/Or - Elliott Smith
Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain - Pavement
Murder Ballads Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds

The Libertines - The Libertines
Comfort Eagle - Cake
Funeral - Arcade Fire
Yanqui U.X.O. - Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Fever to Tell - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Pod - The Breeders

Mogwai - Ten Rapid and Mogwai, fears satan!

Come on Die Young, Rock Action, Happy Songs for Happy People, and Mr Beast (from which Glasgow Megasnake is a fucking killer, both on record but especially live - and if you haven't caught them live ever, or on their recent tour, then, errrrr. shame on you! Go and invent time machine NOW!!! and take me with you so I can see them again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again...) all by Mogwai

Edit: Forgot Mogwai Young Team
If you heart Mogwai so much, you've got to get Neon Golden by The Notwist. Seriously, I am a huge Mogwai fan, but I'd pick the Notwist over them any day. They're...dare I say...better? No, just different. In a better sort of way. ;)
