History:

The Moralistic State of Fedele began as an island with no form of government. For 50 years, large families on the island fought each other in a brutal series of vendettas until those caught up in the middle of the fighting cried out for a saviour to deliver them from the turmoil that had engulfed the island. With a huge following, Fedele of the Vigneto (vineyard) family rose up and peacefully made agreements with two of the other five major warring families encouraging them to come together to form a single family that would become the largest and most powerful on the island and come to be known as the Fantoccini (a puppet manipulated by use of strings) family. Even as these families merged together, the other three major families continued to fight amongst each other until Fedele made a bold statement against them stating that anyone who continued the fighting would make themselves an enemy of the Fantoccini family and concluded with what has become a famous line that is often quoted in a variety of settings, "Chi è causa del suo male piange se stesso" (he who creates his own evil cries over the same). This provoked the three families into working together to fight the Fantoccini family in a war that lasted 3 years that is known today as the War of the Three Families. Despite the efforts of the three families, they were no match for Fedele's strategic genious and ability to sway the public's opinion. The people of the island saw him as a protector and would pass information on to him that helped him to win the war using assasinations and ambushes. At the end of the war, the Fantoccini family had decimated the three families and moved to control so much of the island that Fedele eventually announced himself the ruler and named the island "Fantoccini". He worked to create order on the island that would prevent conflicts from arising and spread Christianity on the island while basing many laws off of commandments in the Bible. The people of Fantoccini lived as a moralistic nation in peace up until the death of Fedele after which they named the Island after him. To this day, his style of governing survives and the nation is ruled by a 'Father' who is appointed by the 'Father' before him.
