    Request for Review: Fraud

I've asked numerous times that this Court address the arguments already put forward by defence counsel and I at the time. I asked the Court to do this (and indeed to do this in future) primarily because it is good manners to do so but also because it allows future counsel to understand the law...

    Request for Review: Fraud

I'm referring to the gargantuan TNP v JAL (3 or is it 4?) as opposed to Flem v Gross. The current charges are two counts of treason, one of multying and one of fraud. By this court's ruling, all complaints must be prosecuted so regardless of my own opinions, I must submit all of said charges...

    Request for Review: Fraud

Just a minor addendum to this post so that the Court is aware. I will not be proceeding with the next case on my docket until this review is dealt with one way or another. So it is advisable that the Court makes it a priority.

Request for Review: FOI Requests and the Judicial Branch

I think SillyString has covered the bases with the great explanation above. The notion that the Court is subject to the FOIA is absurd and not something that anyone wants.

    Criminal code amendment bill.

I like Lord Ravenclaw but I have to say I think that particular outburst was uncalled for and I also like you Aba but I don't think this warrants legislation. The message in question was posted in a cabinet-only section of the forum. This is by no means a "public" area. I think Eluvatar...

FOI Request: Release of Court Logs from TNP v Grosse

I would like to formally withdraw this request. I have however requested a review of both the fraud law (with some specific questions) and the legality of FOI requests of judicial records. As some of you may have found out, I personally don't agree with the inner workings of these decisions...

Request for Review: FOI Requests and the Judicial Branch

I would like the Court to answer this question once and for all. Is the judicial branch subject to the FOIA? In other words, are their inner workings subject to release as is the case with the executive branch? Thanks for your time, [me] Attorney General The North Pacific

    Request for Review: Fraud

I would like the Court to review the fraud law. Specifically the elements required but more than that I would like the Court to delve into the mens rea of "intention" and discuss what it believes is necessary to prove an "intentional deception". What specific elements are required to prove...

FOI Request: Release of Court Logs from TNP v Grosse

Personally I don't think the inner logs should be released. I am certainly unhappy with the length of the decision though - perhaps a happy middle ground could be reached in reforms? i.e. make it clear that executive workings are the only thing subject to FOI requests but place a requirement...

    AG's Desk

As per usual, McMasterdonia and I are roughly of the same opinion. I did what I thought was best at the time and I stick by it. Am I trying to justify it? I don't know about that. I'm saying that other people have done worse in this office and you're singling me out. It's particularly...

FOI Request: Release of Court Logs from TNP v Grosse

Apologies - I discussed this last night with COE briefly and I was drafting a response to what was said but I fell asleep before posting it. Anyway I'll post it here for the benefit of people anyway Anyway that's a great choice McM - I appreciate that you've taken this approach of dealing with...

    AG's Desk

On the contrary, the legal code contemplates an Attorney General could enter the office having opted to be defence counsel simply to avoid a trial he knows is going to happen. Countless AGs have opted to simply not try cases in their term that they do not agree with and yet your disdain has been...

FOI Request: Release of Court Logs from TNP v Grosse

    The North Pacific v. Grosseschnauzer

I'm disappointed that this decision doesn't go into more detail. It seems entirely inadequate that an individual can state "I believe" and shield themselves from any liability for fraudulent statements. At any rate, I thank the Court for its swift deliberation on this matter.
