By the way, sorry if I'm going to fast, but in the interest of keeping to both presenter's RL schedules, we need to hurry things along a bit...
Anyway, long before that event took place, we had more memorable ones - times when we all bonded together for one reason or another, or times when we...
I knew I shouldn't have called you "Cak".... but it rhymed so well... :duh:
As TNP has grown and changed throughout the years, we've had our moments... and then we've had our moments. Our next two awards commemorate the best of both kinds, a time when we should have quite frankly been...
So while some members of our forum seek the higher intellectual ground when they post, there are some others who simply seek any ground at all to increase their post count. That's not to say they lack intelligence of their own - on the contrary, it takes a great deal of skill and knowledge to be...
When our region is having one of our usual "debates" - you know, the kind that tend to turn into shouting contests before there's more than a page of posts - it's always good to have a voice of reason standing by to keep tempers down and spirits high. TNP is rather short on such persons...
It's an economy thing we tried for a while, but I think the idea sort of fizzled out. You get $10 per post, unless you spend it like I did. I can tell you more about it later.
Sorry, Vinceborg, it was a very close vote. We're glad you were able to come, though - stick around for the rest, should be good.
*Hersfold narrowly avoids being soaked in the fallout from Limi's champagne dousing
psst, Gaspo... don't overdo it.
Ahem. Now, ah, the next award:
Another lively part of our region is of course the IRC channel. #tnp on esper.net is a place for any TNPer, and quite a number of non-TNPers, to hang out, talk, and discuss the various meanings of life and other such high...
With The North Pacific being a feeder region, we're home to a large number of new nations, placed randomly in our midst each day when they are founded. Every now and then, we have the chance to meet some of these new nations on our forums - the lucky few who see the light and register before...
Correction to the above statement:
One of our presenters actually was able to make it after all, but due to an unforeseen emergency was not prepared for the ceremony, and at this point it's easier to do it without him anyway.
*Hersfold pokes Gaspo in the head. :P
Our first award today is for the forum's Funniest Poster. After a long, hard day of bickering with each other over the region's politics, the other region's politics, why we're bickering over politics in the first place, and so forth, it's really great to head to the OOC forums and relax a bit...
Welcome, one and all, to the Third Annual North Pacific Awards Ceremony!
We've got a great event scheduled for you this afternoon, thanks in large part to the members of this forum, that's right, you! Without your input and enthusiasm, we would not have been able to hold this ceremony today...
Here we go... just a few things to check on before we begin.
Let's see... venue...
Check!
Presenters... short a couple... one we can manage, two's not overly good...
Awards... enough to be getting on with.
Ok, we're ready to go once Cakatoa shows up!
As a note, the General Annoucements forum is not really under the MoC's control - it's a forum for any government or administration official to make an announcement to the forum. Any (cabinet-level) government official, global mod, or admin has posting and moderation rights there.
The only...
Nominations are closed - we're just looking for the current candidates to post their jokes. OPA's already nominated anyway, so if you can get hold of him, please do.
Yeah, I'm hoping this won't drag on like past ones. I'll send you my plan for how to work that out.
Ok, so date of Ceremony is 8PM GMT on Monday - that's 3 PM EST. I should be able to get on then.
Schnauzer has told me he wants to do the PM awards himself if he can make the time - I'll check...
Top story in the Pacific Enquirer - NPIA Director Hersfold given speeding ticket for top-secret rocket car! Classified extra-terrestrial design - see inside for exclusive details!
My apologies to everyone - I haven't been around much the last few days, and as a result, TNPAC and many of my other duties have begun to pile up. This past week has been incredibly hectic for me, involving two large essays in my AP Literature class, band practice and concert, work, my duties...
Thanks, Schnauzer, I've replied.
15th is probably too early. This week is proving to be incredibly hectic IRL for me - hopefully it will tone down by Friday, but I can't guarantee that. Would the 18th work for you, Cakatoa? It's a Monday, but if we can make it, that should do. If so, what times...
What still has to be done:
Find out when presenters are available between Dec. 15th and Jan. 1st.
Get Prime Minister's awards from Schnauzer.
Set date for ceremony. (Open Poll, once we have available times)
Get PM awards made after Schnauzer tells me what they are. (Thel D'Ran)
Get voting...
Ok, it's been over 24 hours since anyone volunteered, and we do need to get this going. Gaspo, Cakatoa, you will be presenters along with yours truly - if you could send me what dates you'll be available to do the ceremony between this Friday (the 15th) and January 1st, I'll get a poll started...
So I can't give myself twenty votes for "Favorite Tyrant"? Darn, I was so looking forward to awarding myself that one. :P
I'll admit, there are some exceptions, yourself included, Gaspo, but at the same time there are others with your post count who aren't as involved. If one of them were...
Gross, I think you're close enough we can let you in. If you don't have 2000 in a day or two, you will by the ceremony. I'm not sure you ever transfered your posts from s2 anyway.
And yes, ZB, 2000. The number is intentionally large to make sure that whoever volunteers has been around long...
Nominations for this award have now closed. Thanks to everyone who participated in this part of the event. Stick around to see which one of these nominees will win!
