The NationStates server was subjected to a data breach. TNP Forums do NOT interact with the NS servers and remain secure. If you use the same password between the two sites, it is recommended you change your password.
Well, his Maxness was confident enough to TG everyone about it, and I've seen posts from 2 mods on Jolt about it. I know they've been talking about it since before I was born (as least in NS ;) ), but it SOUNDS promising, crappy website notwithstanding.
I think there is an indirect connection. If I understand correctly, regional Influence is based on total endorsements in the region. If you have a 30 nation region with an Extremely High Influence (I don't know if that's possible, I'm just using it as an example), then it likely has a very...
My understanding was the opposite. That the Delegate increases Influence faster than any other nation because of the greater number of endos. Of course, it doesn't help him if he has the blow it all with constant bannings.
I'm not an Influence x-purt, but it seems to me that it's tricky to determine how hard it is to kick a given Minnow. A high-endo nation might have less Influence than a low-endo nation that's been here longer.
I love the ability to restore my own dead nations! I've already brought back 2, even though I don't have any plans for them right now. I'm not sure about the effects on raiding/defending, but it seems to me that smart raiders should still be able to operate.
That brings back memories. I guess my first browser was the POS that AOL used, but it didn't take me long to DL Netscape. But it didn't keep up with IE, and I used it more. The last nail, for me, was when my workplace switched to IE, but by then half the sites didn't work right with NS4...
I'm not really much of a gamer. I tried a few games in the past and they all sucked. NS was the first one to catch my interest, in part BECAUSE it was simple. Though the core of the game is boring, the players MADE it interesting, and went well beyond the original game.
I doubt that NS will disappear in the near-future. And it looks like the decline has stopped, at least for now. At least we haven't lost hundreds of nations/day for the last few days. :P But I'm still not holding my breath for NS2.
