The Crown Conflict

After the leader of Cimmeria, Minister-President David Staedtler made the declaration of war against the entire Cogorian state yesterday, he made a new statement in his office and sent it to the Cimmerian Parliament

The following:

To the Cimmerian Parliament,

I ask that we send troops to the nation of Cogoria to deal with the communist regime, call a truce with the royalists and support them. I believe that trying to take over the whole of Cogoria will only draw attention to the rest of the international community in shock, cause them to overreact, and form a coalition against our country.
We should reconsider our place in the world stage, before making a appalling decision to resorting to imperialism.
With this said, I think that we should support the royalists that were originally in control of Cogoria and help them take back their place as the true rulers of their homeland.

Regards,

David Staedtler
Minister-President of the Kingdom of Cimmerien and Head of the Royal Government

"... We will however release the injured prisoners into you care. The rest shall remain in our custody until such a time as Ceretis recognizes the nation of Kordova and its sovereign Princess Catherine, we understand this is no easy request to grant, therefore we shall not be imposing any time limit. let you leaders mull it over, we have time."

The Cogorian representatives at the intel table had been listening to the conversation on their headsets. Price had been watching their faces to gauge their opinions of any demands being made. He could immediately see their look change from intense concentration to hidden indignation. He almost didn't even need to ask their response but was interested in what they'd say. "These 'Children of the crown' are nothing more than petty criminals. They wouldn't put up much of a fight against a full assault. The embassy staff are all ex military, with a few exceptions. They'll know to take cover once the bullets start flying, and after that, we'll deal with any of the surviving terrorists."

"Petty criminals? Not so sure they're petty anymore with the demand they just made. Unless we can work something else out or heaven is smiling on them you boys may get your wish." He could see a slight grin come across the Cogorian's faces with his response. Hopefully something would give, he needed something, anything. Reaching over he tapped one of the comms buttons. "Forward team prepare to receive injured hostages."

Moments later shadows could be seen at the front door and SWAT officers readied in case the 'release' proved a ruse. As the hostages began making their way out the front door bound and blindfolded there was a sense of relief as the medical teams ushered the injured toward the safety of the waiting ambulances.

Lt. Minato stepped into the command center holding a set of rolled plans in his hand and proceeded to take his seat at the center table. He could see Price was on the phone as he squarely placed the documents on the table. He quickly scribbled out a note and slid it over "It looks like we have our entry, if needed." Nodding, Price covered the receiver with his hand "At least something is going well..." with that he returned to his conversation "... yes, Mr. Secretary, there were no other demands..."

News stations across Ceretis were alight with the news of Cimmerien's declaration of war against Cogoria and it being so close to the homeland. Commentators and analysts were combing over what this new situation will mean for the conflict in Cogoria, the current situation at the embassy, and ramifications of war so near.

Air Traffic Control had been going about their day as normal directing and tracking flights through the busy airspace as the call broke through on the radio.

"Mayday, Mayday, Maydday, this is IGA 77 Heavy we have been struck by weapons fire and are declaring a state of emergency. Multiple engine failure and we are leaking fuel." Before air traffic control could respond came another desperate call "Mayday, Mayday, Maydday, this is IGA 64 Heavy declaring a state of emergency, we have lost hydraulic pressure and flight controls are sluggish. ... we're going to attempt a water landing." The calls were slightly garbled, and all hopes of saving these pilots their fate sank as their positions were identified on long range tracking. Air traffic controllers knew the pilots were going to be in the water. Their only hope would be from the coast guard.

The call came in to the bridge of the CGC Polar Star about the pilots and their position. The Polar Star and the Stratton were on patrol of the outer EEZ, now instead they were on a rescue mission. "Helmsman bring us about to heading 115, all ahead full. Aviation, let's get those drones launched for search, and get those helos up ASAP."

The pilots were bobbing in the water, they could see their former fighter escorts circle overhead. It gave them hope, but they still worried if there would be anyone coming to their aid. Were they too far out? Would the Cogorian's get there first? Would they see their families again? What of the crew of the other aircraft? Eventually they could hear the light chop of rotors approching in the distance. The bright orange paint of the rescue helicopter was one of the sweetest sights they'd seen in a long time.

The clay pigeons began to sail through the air only to be quickly followed by the reports of a shotgun as they shattered into countless pieces.

"Pull"

Two more clays disappeared from the sky, as the Tsar casually began to stroll toward his drink waiting on a nearby table. "Nice shots Harold. Something tells me there won't be many fly aways on the upcoming hunt. Oh, and who do we have here?" Approaching from the house was a young well dressed woman escorted by one of the royal guardsmen toward where Raymond and the Tsar were standing.

Pausing momentarily the guardsman announced "Ms. Wicks of Halcyon Aegis" with that Ms Wicks gave a short bob "Your highness, I'm here with some time sensitive information on behalf of Princess Catherine Rokotov of Kordova." She continued on and explained the situation regarding Cogoria and their interest with meeting with the princess.

"Harold would you like me to head on over to the DCR and see what's what with the neighbors?" Taking off his sunglasses the Tsar gestured toward the house. "Not exactly Raymond. I think it's about time WE meet Catherine. Ms. Wicks, let Catherine know she's not going to be arriving alone."

As part of the Imperial Republic of Goyanes' decision to join PACA, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs hereby issues a condemnation to the Kingdom of Cimmerien.
Noting the extreme nature of the Cimmerien war declaration, the Imperial Republic was compelled to help defend the sovereignty of the Cogorian State. Appalled by the actions aforementioned, we hereby condemn the Cimmerien Kingdom.

The 1st Carrier Strike Group, led by Rear Admiral Willem Kodder, received the order to mobilize to a position off the coast of Cimmerien. The fleet restocked it's supplies, and cast away from Naval Base Jægerstrom. The fleet sailed south at full speed to meet with the other ships of the coalition.

The pilots saw the orange helicopter overhead, they knew they were in safe hands now. They dropped the ladder, and they climbed up to the cabin of the helicopter, greeted by Ceretian Pilots...

A third statement, issued by President John Smith
"Our nation will also issue a condemnation against the Kingdom of Cimmerien. While we do not necessarily support the Cogorian State, we especially do not support declarations of war with the intent to destroy and terminate a country, especially with no valid reason to do so other than their government."

When the fleet started to sail to all warships part of the coalition, Cimmerian fighters on a carrier start to prepare for the inevitable.

"Sir, carrier group has been spotted and will be heading towards Cimmeria. We received this information from naval intelligence. ETA, approximately 7 days. Requesting permission to engage them upon arrival".

The Cimmerian 3rd Fleet, led by Vice Admiral William Krennick denied members of a naval fighter wing permission to engage, but however allow them to patrol the area.

A squadron of K-30 joint strike fighters took off and started to head to their positions.

Meanwhile, the warships part of the 3th Fleet, lead by the Improved Kinnear-class carrier, HMS Oceanus, along with the railgun mounted Lasion-class cruisers, HMS Midas, move into defensive positions in order to protect the Cimmerian mainland.

At least 50-100 fighter aircraft are to stand by in the case of an air raid.

Approximately 16 destroyers, 3 carriers, 24 frigates, 75 coastal defense vessels also have order to take defensive positions.

Meanwhile, the Cimmerian Parliament takes other measures to protect their nation.

Zhukov sat in the conference room of the DCR. from outside he heard the howl of a helicopter's engine as it landed, quickly followed by a second. When the doors to the conference room opened, he stood as the sole surviving Rokotov entered. He was surprised by how young she was, sure he had seen the videos but face to face, it was shocking how petite and fragile she looked in person. She sat herself down opposite to him before speaking "Greetings Mr. Zhukov. I must be honest, I never thought i'd ever meet you in person. Before we start proceedings, I believe the Ceretis government have sent a representative. their helicopter was landing as mine was. I wish to wait for them before proceeding." Zhukov watched as a door started to open while the princess spoke "I believe we don't need to wait your guest is here. Either way you have nothing to fear. We can both agree that Cogoria has lost this conflict, our soldiers don't have the stomach for fighting their own people. But we have a larger threat, Cimmerien's declaration threaten's both of us. I have already ordered the Coastal armies to break off and take up their old positions. Though my Guards Brigade are holding the old frontline for appearances sake. The sooner we can settle these talk, the sooner we can plan on our response. "

All along the Cogorian held coast the tired naval infantry re-garrisoned the fortifications. Guns and SAMs pointed out towards the sea, and the army licked it's wounds from the month of fighting. Airfields across the country became hives of activity, bombers and fighters were being stripped down for parts, struggling to provide enough operative aircraft for the plans being drawn up, while the massive transports of the Guards and Ariel Artillery were tended to by the tender ministrations of their ground crews. At sea the naval Infantry were re-boarding their landing ships and rejoining the fleet.

SAA Canada condems Cimmerien, and their crazy ideas. There is almost no casus belli, other than they declared war on Cogoria (and the rebels, but its pretty obvious who they hate more.) because they disagree with Cogoria's government. SAA Canada will supply the pact against Cimmerien's aggresion with a some ships. The number that is condeming them is small currently, but may increase over time. Just in case, SAA Canada's small ground force slowly mobilizes.

While the coalition journeys to the Cimmerian coast to initiate the blockade, Cimmerian military officials start to
prepare for the nation's defense. The nation's Royal National Guard were given orders to initiate nation-wide martial law. Anti-air, and coastal defenses are set across the country and the Cimmerian Army and the R.N.G are arresting, and detaining those who have descended from Cogoria, and the nations part of the PACA, due to the suspicion of espionage from the coalition.

The Grand Federation of Xentherida's Home Office has issued a travel warning against Xentheridans travelling to Cimmerien and Cogoria, and is encouraging that the citizens residing within Cimmerien and Cogoria to return to Xentherida, at the risk of death.

In the mean time, Xentherida would advise that all members of PACA to begin to set sail to begin the blockade of Cimmerien; ships are to set up the blockade just outside Cimmerien waters.

Ministry of State Security, East Jacksonville City, Capital District.

The Minister of State Security, Valery Vakulchik, has just had his weekly meeting with the President and Vice President of Jacksonville. He has informed them of many things, including that the crime rate has lowered in Jacksonville. Then he pulls out a piece of paper. He shows it to both of them and they all nod in agreement. After they leave, the Minister walks onto the balcony where he will give a speech from. All the cameras are pointed on him.

"My fellow citizens. Due to the recent aggression by Cimmerien in Cogoria, we have decided to halt all air travel with the country. We believe this is necessary so that we can keep the people of the nation safe. We have instructed the airlines to refund the cost of plane tickets. I ask that you understand in this trying time. It is this governments duty to keep everyone safe and that if what we are doing. Thank you one and all for your time. Long live the Republic of Jacksonville!"

The Minister then signs the official papers which halts all air travel between Cimmerien and Jacksonville. When people are asked about their opinion on it, many of them respond with praise. One man even says, "Finally our Government does something to keep the security of our people as their main focus."

Fernandina Naval Base, Republic of Fernandina.

The 3rd Naval is getting read to set sail to aid the PACA coalition. This will be the first time that most of the ships in the carrier group see action. It will also be the first time that the Helicopter Pilots fight.

"Commander Ilvanya, the carrier is ready. All the planes are on board the two aircraft carriers and the helicopter carrier is almost loaded. The cruisers and destroyer are also ready to set sail.", begins Lt. Dima Bukorov.

"Good. Turn on the intercom so I can speak to all the other ships.", says the Commander in response.

"Yes Commander.", responds Lt. Bukorov.

"Soldiers. Today, many of you are setting sail for the first time. It is my honor to have you serving in the 3rd Naval Group, the best of the best. We are going to fight against Cimmerien aggression in our ally Cogoria. We are fighting not only for Cogoria, but for the safety of all nations against this threat. Lets get to it! Sailors, its time. Lets go!", says the Commander as the carriers, cruisers, and the destroyer all set sail.

The ships leave the port of Fernandina. They are heading to defend Cogoria and tackle Cimmerien aggression. The Ministry of Defense announced they will monitor them and give them all orders from the capital.

From Prince-Consul Varus Nascorus,
To Chairman Zhukov,

Greetings, Chairman. It may surprise you to receive a letter from one styled a Prince-Consul, let alone a letter sent in amicability, but I am one who has a long relationship with the communist revolutions of the past decades. I would note, for instance, that beacon of the international proletariat Ilamzat supported the August bid for the Council of Nations based virtually entirely on my personal ascension to our Consulate.

Yet, it is true that I am also the son of an Emperor; an Imperator, Caesar. By that birth, I am considered by my nation's government to be entitled to candidacy as his successor, on his passing.

One would, with reason, find it difficult to reconcile hereditary rule with the egalitarian tenets of communism. However, it is a reconciliation that August pink conservatism has been born on. I do not claim to defend it, reprehensible as it has been in producing state control of the people, but rather, to indicate the background against which I developed my faith in the communist peoples who have for years now conducted their critique of our Crown.

I would come to you humbly to offer not just my personal support, but the substantial force of the August Crown and People in bipartisan partnership to assist you in reconciling the Royalists and the Communists of your nation into a single nation, under whatever consideration is necessary to secure a one-state solution. I do this not to support the adoption of the August model, but that you may offer a model I may hold up as a future for my own people.

Sincerely, with hope for cooperation between our peoples and those of all Cogoria,
Prince-Consul Varus Nascorus

The Ninhundish Government is not wanting to support much but the Cimmerien Army is going to get a surprise. Since Cogoria isn't against Ninhundland we don't support this invasion Cimmerien is going to have a suprize sooner or later. The Royal Cimmerien Family is now being hunted down as Ninhundish Soldiers make their way to Cimmerien. Due to recent conflicts Nin doesn't want to do any annexing but by looking for Anti-Monarch minorities who are opposed to this war and have them take power.

Revolutions are our friends who could turn this country around into a National Socialist Republic.

As they approached they could see a Cogorian military helicopter sitting with a couple guards nearby on the far side of the DCR platform which looked as though it'd been there a while. On the opposite side usually reserved for a Ceretian diplomat there was another helicopter with its rotor slowly spinning down and someone walking toward the diplomatic building as the Tsar's helicopter started its landing. Entering the diplomatic building the Tsar could could hear the voice of a young woman in the chair opposite Zhukov as they chatted, but couldn't yet see her because of the high back chair in which she sat.

He proceeded to take a seat with the rest of them as Raymond instead sat down on one of the small couches along the wall behind the Tsar. The conversation between Zhukov and Catherine drew to a close as everyone had now arrived.

Harold took in the sight of Catherine, not quite what he expected, but then again she's probably not quite what anyone expected. "So you're the one that sparked these turn of events. Never thought one day I'd be talking with a Rokotov. Oh, by the way I have something for you." Turning to Catherine the Tsar handed her a small wooden box.

With the Cimmerien situation on the horizon, the whole world seemed on edge, and every political action seemed charged. The meeting of the leaders on the DCR was necessary to bring some resolution to the situation. Ceretis however was taking little chance of the meeting going wrong. The navy had deployed surface and subsurface forces to make sure there would be no disturbance.

The small amount of ships blockading Cimmerien is slowly increasing. Mobilization has completed and the forts on the coast ar armed, just in case. Sailors on the blockade joke around and eat like the ships are their homes. Food is plentiful, with supplies coming in everyday, and music can always be heard. About 120 marines have boarded some ships, and are armed with rifles and machine guns, in case the Cimmeriens try anything funny.

The authorities in The Rose League have authorized the dispatch of our two hospital ships, the H.S. Cúram and the H.S. Trócaire in the event that either of your nations require humanitarian aid. We also have additional provisions on two of our frigates, the M.N.V. Eilín, the M.N.V. Sláine which are carrying food, medicine and temporary shelter. As for myself, I am a part of the Merilian Crimson Berets and my team of negotiators are on hand to assist either of your nations with coming to a peace agreement or even overseeing a peace to ensure that all sides are treated fairly. If you do require our assistance, please direct any correspondences to me or my team on board the M.N.V. Róisín.

The Cimmerian Parliament orders that all travel of any kind will be prohibited, as they deploy more naval vessels into the fray, increasing their numbers to 90 coastal defense vessels, 26 destroyers, 34 frigates, 6 carriers, 174 aircraft, and now including 10 crusiers, and a Visser-class battleship named, HMS Poseidon.

They also board 300 Royal Marines in each carrier deployed, as the coalition draws closer to outside Cimmerian waters.

The Parliament orders that cruise missiles and anti-ship weapons be used against the coalition upon their arrival.

They also activate their nation's nuclear arsenal as a last resort, in case the situation stirs out of control, under orders from Miles III, the king of the Cimmerian Kingdom.

Meanwhile, the king is speaking with with his advisers concerning the war and the parliament under the Minister-President Staedtler.

King Miles III: How did all this come to be? This should not be happening.

Chamberlain Daniel: Sire, you can't control the parliament, it's in the constitution.

King Miles III: I know that! I am worried about what is going to happen to this nation, this kingdom, the people in it. Bring me the president? I want to see him.

Chamberlain Daniel: We can't, He's nowhere to be found.

King Miles III: Well, he must be somewhere. Is he in his office?

Chamberlain Daniel: No sire, Minister-President Steadtler hasn't entered or leave his office in 4 days.

King Miles III: He can't abandon his post like that! The parliament must've noticed his absence.

Chamberlain Daniel: They haven't done anything about his disappearance.

King Miles III: The coalition is on it way and he's gone!(Calms down) Chamberlain, You must conduct an investigation of the parliament and find him. I want to know what is happening to the government.

Chamberlain Daniel: At once, Your Majesty.

His chamberlain leaves to investigate the Cimmerian Parliament.

Federal Republic of Iepraria
OFFICE OF THE PRIME-MINISTER

The government of the Federal Republic of Iepraria has been closely observing the development of events in the nation of Cogoria, and, due to the most recent occurrences, issues the following statement:

It is well known that the socialist regime of Cogoria does not fully respect the human rights of its citizens, having banned public religious displays and restricted freedom of speech, having also employed chemical weaponry in its own cities. As such, the Republic is no friend of the government of Cogoria.

In December 25th, an organized armed movement seized control of parts of the nation, declaring their intent to restore the monarchy. This action received a mixture of support and condemnation from the international community, as was expected.

This revolt persisted against governmental forces, soon becoming a full civil war. To us, the people of Iepraria, the most vital principle of international law is a people's right to self-determination, and, as such, the Republic never takes a side in internal conflicts of this nature, unless the protection of civil liberties demands it.

The situation, however, has changed. Recently, we received news of an unprovoked and unjust declaration of war by the Kingdom of Cimmerien against Cogoria. This act is a clear violation of international law, and will be met with severe consequences. Acts of aggression and warmongering cannot be tolerated.

For these reasons, the government of the Federal Republic of Iepraria hereby:

a) CONDEMNS the unjust act of aggression by the Kingdom of Cimmerien;

b) ASKS the nation of Cogoria to allow for international humanitarian aid, given the severity of the situation;

c) PLEADS that the usage of chemical and biological weapons be avoided; and

d) OPENS its borders to refugees fleeing the conflict.

Further internal measures, such as economic sanctions, will be proposed to the Federal Parliament. Any intentional attack on Ieprarian civilian aircraft and naval vessels will be considered an act of war.

Although the nation of Andrenne was in the Coalition, they were.. Hesitant, to say the least. William Gehrhardt had pushed Andrenne into the Coalition without most of the population's approval. Yes, the Parliament had approved it, but the citizens didn't. Protests had popped up in Mitta and Kallmo, the two largest cities in Andrenne. They protested against Andrenne joining the Coalition, and against Gehrhardt's reckless political habits. The protests lasted two days, before Gehrhardt addressed it in a speech. The speech took place in the Parliament building, on February 10th at 7:00 PM.

"People of Andrenne, I deeply apologize for my reckless actions. I see now how large my ego was, thinking that I could simply do whatever I want and the great people of Andrenne would approve. I deeply apologize. Before I leave office tomorrow, I will repeal our application to the Pact Against Cimmerian Aggression. I will also be disbanding the Expeditionary Fleet and the two Expeditionary Air Wings, since they were both made specifically for the Coalition. I hope that our new Prime Minister, Olivia Wehrn, will not be as reckless as I was. Once more, I deeply apologize for my reckless actions over the past 5 years. To the people of Andrenne, goodbye, and goodnight." Gehrhardt finished his speech, the live broadcast ending right after.

The following day, early in the morning; Gehrhardt would repeal Andrenne's Coalition application, and disband the Expeditionary Fleet and the two Expeditionary Air Wings. He then prepared to leave office, gathering whatever belongings he had at the Premiär-Has, otherwise known in Andrenne as '7 Kjelder Strata (7 Kjelder Street)'. Before leaving a day early, he cleaned the entire home up. He would only go back there now to do the official farewell, and to greet Olivia Wehrn when she officially entered office. Olivia Wehrn would start an isolationist trend in Andrenne soon after taking office. The Constitutional Monarchy of Andrenne was now a neutral party.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE CIMMERIAN MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

Due to a change in our nation's government, we ask to call a truce with the coalition and the nation of Cogoria.

The new government has realized that the declaration was not justified, and thus we offer our apology for causing trouble.

The government of Cimmeria hereby will call off the invasion attempt and withdraw all troops from the coast

The Minister of Foreign Affairs
The Kingdom of Cimmeria

The Nebulan armed forces were in a state of minor chaos. A parliamentary motion for war on the part of the Socialists had been blocked by the Democrats, but not before Azurus Malachit's allies in the War Office ordered the Purple Fleet to mobilize. This order had slipped in undetected and by the time Antlerio and the Democrats found out the fleet was literally hours from sailing. The Coastal Patrol had been ordered to prevent the fleet from leaving Nebulan waters by any means necessary and after a tense standoff in which a Patrol captain and his tiny squad stood up to a fully armed Nebulan flagship and refused to allow them passage, Antlerio managed to get the fleet turned around.
The political implications of such an action were highly troubling to many. Thousands of protesters demanded the arrest of Malachit; despite his apparent lack of involvement there were few others who could have arranged such an action. Hundreds of counter-demonstrators called for Antlerio's resignation and the fleet to sail. Legislators shouted themselves hoarse in heated debate on the course of action to be taken.

Meanwhile, while the Coastal Patrol was converging on the waters where the confrontation had been occurring, a small anarchist force of a few hundred radicals sailed on a motley collection of repurposed and repaired ships that had been slated for the scrapyard. After putting together the funds to launch such an expedition, a network of anarchists had arranged for the ships to be rebuilt, armed, and armored, with the intent of landing in rural Cogoria and aiding whatever libertarian left forces could be found. Three hundred and fifty volunteers from across Nebula had gathered in a small backwater port not far from Lyirzite. Supplies were stocked and, as the confrontation kept ordinary Nebulans glued to their TVs and computers, the three vessels slipped out as the sun sank the western horizon, disappearing into the twilight.

Zhukov was a bit take aback when the Tsar of Ceretis himself entered the room, though he managed to maintain his composure. Allowing the young princess time to acquaint herself with the monarch, he made his way to a side room, normally reserved for translators and legal experts it was now occupied by a radio set and a printer. As he entered the printer spat out a few sheets of paper while the technician talked in hushed tones into the radio. Quickly rifling through the small bundle he came across one of particular interest and pocketed it. As he turned to leave the printer started up again, spitting out an intercepted message from the Cimmeriens to the Coalition. Taking the headset from the operator, he gave out his instructions, before quietly reentering the negotiation room. "I apologise, matters of state do not stop, especially during wartime. Cimmerien has just tried to go behind our backs and negotiate a truce with the Pact, and tie us into whatever they come up with. I have informed my Government to reject this. It is now up to you whether or not you join us. I think you know we'll need your soldiers, but the rewards could be greater than you originally hoped" Reaching over, he slid the sheet of paper across the table. "A message from the Imperium Augustum's Prince-Consul no less"

Catherine reached for the wooden box, barely noticing Zhukov getting up. Flipping the lid she stared at the pocket watch inside, the scene of a great battle carved onto the cover. "This was my Great Grand father's. It had been given to his great grandfather after he won the battle of the three legions, we all counted it as one of the heirlooms lost in the war. Thank you" As she examined the watch she wondered how it escaped destruction but before she could ask, Zhukov had returned with some papers in hand.

From the offices of the Chairman of the Armed Republic of Cogoria
Our great Nation is at war, it is not a war of our making. It is a war of unrepentant imperialism. Cimmerien sought to wipe our nation of the face of Eras, to scour us from the annals of history. However after threatening our great Motherland with destruction, after declaring their intent to 'assimilate' our nation, they have backed down, they have sought recconciliation. But not with Cogoria. Not with those they threatened. Instead they sent their requests fro a truce to the Coalition formed to resist their aggression, they sent their apology to the Pact that sought to keep the peace. And this attempt at reconciling this conflict contained no mention of meeting to discus terms, no mention of the effect this 'truce' will have on foreign relations in the region.
Due to the insulting and disturbing manner this message was sent, and the utter disregard for this nation in it's content, the nation of Cogoria is making a stand. There shall be no peace until the Kingdom of Cimmeria issues an unconditional surrender, there will be no peace talks held unless they are on Cogorian soil, with Cogoria dictating the terms. Wars have consequences. Let the government of Cimmeria learn them in the fiery crucible, so that nations in the future might be spared from their reckless actions.
Grigori Zhukov
Chairman Of the Cogorian Politburo

The Red banner fleet's orders were clear, sailing south of Ragnar, they sited themselves to resist any attempt to force the strait, yet they were still close enough to react if Cimmeria sent ships around the North. Though it was unlikely their fleets would break past the pact's vessels, the high command were taking no risks. On land, the civil aviation fleet had ceased to exist, the husks of the planes lay in heir hangers and on the runways where they were stripped bare. The salvaged parts were being distributed to airfields up and down the nation, as the Aerial Artillery regiments tried to get all their aircraft operational, at the same time containers of missiles were being unloaded haphazardly as the threat from enemy planes was considered low enough to abandon safety procedures. Leaflets were being handed out across the nation, into hotels, hostels and at all embassies, offering free travel for all foreigners in the country to Ceretis by ferry, giving them a chance to escape the potential devastation and return home safely.

As Minister-President Staedtler was busy with his paperwork, his chief of staff came into his with a report.

"Mr. President, we have received a letter from Cogoria."

"So, they have accepted the truce then. That's good."

Actually, it's quite the opposite. They say that they won't accept a truce, unless, we go to the nation and unconditionally surrender on their terms."

"WHAT?!?!"

"We're entering Cogorian waters," reported the navigator in the lead anarchist ship. "We'd best raise the red flag soon, our friends at home working the satellites indicate the presence of government fleets in this area."
"Right," said the head of the deck crew, gesturing to the other men around him. They rose and within a minute the ensign of the Radical League flew from the masts of each vessel.
The Radical League had gathered notoriety for their uncompromisingly hard-line perspective and calls for intervention in almost every war since Malachit stepped down. Most of their recent plans to intervene had been blocked by the Nebulan government, but it was not unreasonable for a secret group to have made it through.
The ships sailed on, thus disguised.

Has Lord Kayus Emmanuel, the President of Scallendovia and the speaker of the National Assembly Sen. Isaac Daniel was busy discussing about the future of Scallendovia. Suddenly the chief of army staff and minister of defence MajGen Chris Joel and Gen. Olamide Ishola knock the door of the office " knocking knocking knocking"

President:- who is that?
MajGen : We are the one Sir
President: who are you?
MajGen : Chris sir
President: ohh come in
MajGen: OK Sir.

As both of them open the door, Saluting mr president and the speaker of the national assembly.

Sir mr president, will come to discuss about the situation of cogori civil war and Cimmerian aggression.

As tension grows, from Scallendovia helping Cimmerian and the PACA almost falling apart, so does the amount of ships near Cimmerian waters. As of now, there is 3 battleships, 5 destroyers, 2 submarines, and a newly placed aircraft carrier. Even as war comes close, morale never lowers on the Kanadian ships. Sailors will laugh as they shout Kanadian slogans and taunts, over loundspeakers, to the Cimmerians. Even if the Cimmerian's are stupid enough to declare war on 8 nations, it wont matter for long. Battleship guns are pointed at coatal defences, and the planes on the aircraft carrier are primed and ready. Every night, celebrations with lights and music can last 'till 3 in the morning. The Queen herself said, "I believe that with high morale, a quick victory is certain. If that is true, we'll defeat the Cimmerian's 5 seconds after they declare war." at a dinner one night.

2 battlships and 4 destroyers have been sent to patrol in international waters near Scallendovia, in hopes to "change their mind" in joining Cimmerian.

Mr president: Whattt!! This is crazy ( stand up and start working around). What are they doing?

Minister : They have send 2 battlships and 4 destroyers to patrol in international water close to us, and this as lead to tension for our citizens living around there. Some are even fleding the area for Sil Dorsett.

Mr president: Ah! This is a serious issue, we need fast reaction.

Minister: Yes, but don't worry, we are going to find solution to this.

Mr president: What do you think will can do now?

Both of them went out immediately.

Mr president sit down on back on his chair and started thinking about the situations.

They had been sailing for several days now. As the sun was rising, the other ships of the carrier group came into view. Jon sat on the edge of the flight deck, sipping his coffee, ready to start the day. As usual, at 7:00 AM, the foghorn sounded, and everyone stood and saluted the flagpole on the antenna mast of the ship. The anthem played, and the flag of Goyanes made its way up. After the routine morning ceremonies were over, the day's events began. The roaring sound of the Rafale fighter engines filled the air, and wing after wing took to the skies.

The Cimmerian Parliament orders that all forces be returned to their original positions as Minister-President Staedtler re declares martial law throughout the nation.

At least 3 carriers have been redeployed. All other information was classified by the nation's secret intelligence.

Meanwhile, Staedtler prepares to take a day long journey to Scallendovia to further read the terms of the treaty, before sign rhe document that will form the military alliance between Cimmeria and Scallendovia.

Once, MajGen Chris Joel heard that Staedtler is on his way to Scallendovia, he quickly finished all all what is doing and start preparing for is arrival.
When all necessary preparation is done, they wait outside to welcome him when he arrived.

Cogorian intelligence had picked up numerous communications between the Scallendovian and Cimmerien governments, but were unable to crack them, it was only when Cimmerien sent an uncoded transmission concerning the Scallendovians siding with them did the volume of traffic make sense. That and the removal of the Scallendovian embassy from neighbouring Kanada. Instead of seeing this as another enemy to fight, the high command saw it as an opportunity to strike first. The PACA forces were already blocking any attempt to strike at Cimmerien, but there were no forces to protect Scallendovia from the wrath of an angry nation. Orders were sent out to scramble the aircraft that were waiting to attack Cimmerien.

The 80 aircraft of the two aerial artillery regiments and 126 fighters escorting them droned through the night sky, two tanker aircraft broke away as the air fleet reached combat range. The commander of the 1st Air Army addressed his crews. "Comrades we are 250 kilometres from the enemies ports we should be well outside of their ground based AA, we are green light on target information from the Princess's friends in Aegis. Sync fire command to my aircraft and begin strike." Almost as one, the bay doors of the bombers swung open exposing the rotary magazines inside. First the 4 missiles dropped from their pylons, before the magazines rotated dropping off their payloads. Each bomber finished launching their 20 missiles before turning home, with the fighters forming a screen behind them, scanning for hostiles, as they began their long flight North, while they headed for the Northern Horn, 1600 missiles screamed in towards the Scallendovian port facilities, guided by the Aegis company's satellites.

To Prince-Consul Varus Nascorus of the Imperial Augustum,
I on behalf of the people of Cogoria, thank you for your kind offer, and in the name of those that I serve and on behalf of the Princess Rokotov, we accept. Too many of our soldiers have perished on both sides of this conflict. However due to the state of war we now find ourselves in, speed is of the essence. While we recognise that one cannot simply restructure a nation over night, we require a united nation with a single voice pulling together towards victory in order to preserve our beloved Motherland. As such we request your assistance, and that of your government at your earliest convenience, so that Cogoria can face the threat of destructionas a single people.

When the Cimmerian's Secret Intelligence Service discovered that Cogoria planned a strike on Cimmeria, They reported this to the Minister-President while he was on his way to Scallendovia to sign their treaty. He ordered that the Royal Cimmerian Navy, which included be mobilized to head out to international waters to keep the Pact from standing in the way, and that all of the armed forces of Cimmeria be completely armed and ready, including setting up anti air and coastal defenses, making Cimmeria mostly, if not completely armed. He also orders that anyone that is, or has descended from Cogoria, and member states of the Pact to be put in internment camps, as before, for fear of espionage. He finally orders that all civilian travelin and out of Cimmeria be prohibited, while putting in place, a law that makes the King, and his family and his advisers completely powerless, making royalty a mere symbol in the nation's legislature.

After leaving the PACA, SAA Canada sends a letter to the Cogorian government.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TO THE COGORIAN HIGH COMMAND

We have recently left the PACA in hopes for an alliance with you. We do not have many ground troops, but we have a navy, which can ferry around your large ground force. We can move your troops to Scallendovia for a ground invation, and in return, all we would want is a few ports to expand trade area. If you accept our offer for an alliance, we will deliver a declaration of war to Scallendovia, and will use our ships to move your troops into their water for a beach invasion.

Gutt Mins Dou,
Edward Lewis, Minister of Defense.

Varus was a beer drinker. One of his many little habits, cultivated to ingratiate himself to the working classes. It was not as Machiavellian as it sounds; he truly did enjoy stout. He was not one given to sensory pleasure, and so many of his favourites were simply part of his image. Learned, and loved, in total honesty. It was a convenient frame of mind. In wholecloth his life was fabricated, and yet, there was not an ounce of dishonesty in him. Those inclined to offer him their support could go so far as to note, accurately, that whereas the child is raised to live and love as is taught by the hand of their parents and their circumstances, Varus was raised instead by the proletariat.

Today was an orange-peel wheat beer. Wheat beers were the norm in Imperium, when one was not having wine or liquor with a meal, and aromatic beers were by far the preferred.

A little cafe in the Palace District of Alba Longa. One would not expect a VIP to be out in public, having beer in the middle of the street and without any bodyguard to speak of.

However, this was Imperium.

This, and every nearby block, and every other block in the Palace District, was occupied entirely by trusted servicers. The district was a safe place for Imperium's elite to congregate in relative freedom and prosperity, a safehouse expanded in all directions into a virtual suburb with an average income dwarfing the average small business. Every cafe here was staffed by family members of generals, every humble police officer working the beat a younger brother or a protege of some chief or hotshot investigator somewhere in Imperium. It bored Varus, so much. There was very little to do in the Palace District that was not some permutation of work, a working lunch, or networking. The Cogorian Conflict offered him a sweet respite; something to do with his time, as Urban Consul - a title slowly fitting him better, and better, the more he thought about it. His first letter to Cogoria had been sent out hastily, as his intelligence assets informed him of the newfound unity of their state in the face of the Cimmerian declaration of war. It was an opportunity to build a nation that could remind him of his own - to help light another beacon to his allies in the international proletariat, that there could be cooperation between the state socialists and his anathemic laurels.

As he sipped his beer, a waiter came out of the cafe with a shot of espresso. Many of the businesses in the Palace District were paid by tabs, traded away and settled like favours after the fact - for a royal, of course, the very opportunity to even discuss a tab was reward enough, and so the contents of such a tab were so irrelevant as to be ignored even at the point of sale. The shot was no different, another complementary dish accompanying a letter. The waiter had, of course, been requisitioned by a state employee, so as to keep up the appearances of day-to-day business. Somewhere in the back of the store, a man kitted in the uniform of the August Censorial Service, responsible for the post and all other such communications, was waiting patiently for notice of delivery. A plainclothes police officer was, no doubt, watching from only a few strides away.

Gently opening the envelope, dictated and prepared by no less than a Praefect of the Divine Service less than a quarter of an hour prior, Varus started to read the reply from Grigori Zhukov. Through pursed lips, he could not conceal his pleasure at reading the first line - "those that I serve and on behalf of the Princess Rokotov..." And, so too were the hints of future success in the last - "a single people." It was not surprising that speed was of the essence, and if there was anything Imperium could commit to at the flick of one's wrist, it was speed. What was more delicate was the nature of the assistance that could be granted to the Cogorian people. Quite simply, what they needed was assistance in helping to rectify the deep-seated structural conflict between the royalist and communist factions. Such assistance would take too long to manifest.

Instead, there was an answer quite literally in front of him.

The Censorial Service had, for several centuries, been the mouthpiece of the August state. Over that time, they had produced the narrative expected by Caesar without fail - a literal God amongst mortals, whose permanence is that of sovereignty. In the same time, they had carefully cultivated the necessary devotion to community and country necessary to keep the decentralized labour systems of Imperium functional. The anachronistic relationship between the monolithic Imperium and its networks of unions was one maintained on a knife edge by the Censorial Service. It had become, thanks to pressure, a blunter edge, an edge that would cut less and less as time went on. If Cogoria wished to become one, again, then it would only be with the careful cultivation of the local culture - to properly capitalize on the institutions of war as institutions of unity. War, Varus was not interested in. But revolution, he liked.

Prince-Consul Varus Nascorus,
to the Honourable Offices of Chairman Grigori Zhukov & Princess Rokotov

It is my opinion that, in order to further our goals of a unified Cogoria, it is necessary to begin laying the foundations immediately. It shall be an unmitigated shame if, having won the war, the troops were to use the blood of the Cimmerians to paint two flags. Imperium has immediately begun the process of mobilizing the necessary assets to assist the Cogorian nation. I therefore wish to advise you that we are, as of now, giving notice to the Honourable Offices of Chairman Grigori Zhukov & Princess Rokotov of the following combat-authorized assets to arrive within 24 hours. These assets shall be used to form an operational headquarters, which will be tasked to evaluate and formally request substantial combat assets within 72 hours of this missive.

1. ANVY Pisces; amphibious assault carrier, operational headquarters configuration (200 troops, 4 material transport craft, 16 heavy helicopters)
2. ANVY Libra; amphibious assault carrier, assault configuration (1000 troops, 2 landing craft, 60 APCs, 16 heavy helicopters)
3. Additional troop transports carrying total a Cohort (500) of Censorial Servicers

I wish to propose the following plan. My intention is to have a cohort of Censorial Servicers train Cogorian non-commissioned officers (or equivalent ranks) known to be receptive to our goals of a peaceful resolution between the royalists and communists to act as reformed political commissars. Candidates, and sympathetic servicemen, will hereafter be referred to as "militarists", with those remaining committed to the civil war being known hereafter as "traitors". Political commissars will return to their units, to immediately start the process of building up formal structures of militarists who will be able to undermine dissent and conflict within the forces. The matter will be best handled during the heat of war, where deaths and injuries to senior officers would allow political commissars to recommend the appointment of militarists to higher positions and therefore break traitorous control over problematic units. The use of the term "militarist" is also intentional, giving political commissars an alternative narrative by which they can differentiate themselves and their allies from "traitors".

Militarists will have to hand two fundamental propagandistic themes - the first, painting traitors as responsible for Cogorian weakness, placing the blame for the violence in the civil war on their wish to weaken Cogoria for Cimmerian domination. It is important to note here that we do not claim the civil war is wholly synonymous with violence, as that would alienate the royalists - instead, it is to be said that both communists and royalists attempted to communicate peacibly, and that those who brought about the violence were a single bloc malignant elements hiding in both that must be weeded out as Cimmerian spies. We may go as far as to reveal the life of Princess Rokotov, laying the blame for the excesses that ended the royal family on the head of foreign agitators.

We will require a second theme, then, to bring the two sides together. That theme must be a shared identity for the militarists - something, at first, honourable and worth taking pride in for both sides. This could be manifested in an award or honour immediately granted to what few people already hold praiseworthy qualities in the eyes of both sides. Perhaps those who have protected the innocent from harm during the civil war, to their own loss. This would have to be very visible, like a badge that can be worn on the service uniform. During the process of the war, as more injuries are taken on both sides, the criteria for the honour can be slowly widened until there is a large minority of praiseworthy militarists, identified for their service by a badge in which they see a shared sacrifice.

This honour, called for by the second theme, would of course be accompanied by the right to use brand new, properly marked August equipment, loaned to Cogoria to replace equipment lost in the war. Current service equipment will also be loaned to fill more urgent need, of course.

More concerning news regarding the conflict had arrived. Within the Parliament, the MPs were being shown worrying evidence as they listened to the Minister of Defence - Sanna Blomstedt.

“Recent posts on Fluttr from Xentheridan citizens within Cimmerien - who still reside there, despite the warnings - have shown a worryingly mysterious disappearance. Many appear to have just disappeared, the most regular of Fluttr users going completely dark. Some have even posted somewhat ominous messages, warning about disappearing or being taken. We cannot ignore this.”

Sanna clicked on her pointer, the slideshow progressing another slide. “It also may be linked to satellite footage; as you can see in the two pictures, a sort of camp has been erected there. It may be a temporary refuge zone, who knows? But there is a possibility.”

She turned to the MPs assembled in front of her. “The disappearances also appear to be linked to other members of PACA’s civilians. Goyanean, Itrean, citizens from all PACA nations have appeared to have simply vanished.”

“Therefore, I suggest we must take action. We will need to prepare our reserve fleets so we can act as quickly as possible. But we must also be cautious. I will suggest that we deploy special operatives from Military Intelligence branch 7 to act as a Xentheridan citizen. With intelligence gathered from reports, we can finally deduce the mysterious disappearance of our civilians, and confirm the truth.”

“That may confirm, or call off, further hostilities with Cimmerien.”

Later that evening, fifteen operatives packed their bags, and took flights to Cimmerien under assumed identities, each flying different routes. They were to take residence all over Cimmerien, and gather intelligence about the missing civilians.

Meanwhile, the Xentheridan navy began to mobilise its reserve navy and air force as secretly as possible, to be ready to sail to international waters just outside Cimmerien, just in case the conflict should escalate more.

The Cimmerian leader, Minister-President Staedler will be landing on Scallendovia in: 14 hours

Meanwhile, The Cimmerian Parliament sent a statement to Scallendovian officials. This is the following:

OFFICIAL LETTER FROM THE CIMMERIAN PARLIAMENT

William Brighton
Chancellor of His Majesty's Government
Kingdom of Cimmeria

In the beautiful Guslant city of Miragea, the Governor of Oida and May's mother, Yan Lin Leng, waited at the entrance to the city for the Queen to arrive. Suddenly, a motorcade arrived, and Leah's personal guards began to prepare for her to get out. The door opened, and the Queen of Guslantis, dressed in all white, stepped out. "Your Majesty," said Yan Lin, before bowing in a traditional Miragean fashion. "Governor, I'm very sorry, but the chancellor could not make it today," replied the Queen, smiling at Leng's humility.

Leng led the Queen toward the stage where she was to make her speech, and the guards followed suit after the two women. "Can nations not settle their disputes via negotiations? Must we always be in a state of turmoil?" asked Leah, looking to Yan Lin as they walked. "War is natural to us as humans. I just hate to watch as those who are dragged into this are torn apart. Ryan and May, they were two of the most innocent people ever, but when the Krieg Clan came, they took them from us. I just hope that when these nations go to war, they realize that not only are the soldiers risking their lives, but so are the civilians. We must save as many lives as possible, and at this rate, I don't know who's going to be left," Yan Lin responded, reflecting on the loss of her daughter and Leah's fiancé.

When they got to the stage, Leng approached the podium first. "Hello everyone. The Monarchy has been silent concerning this situation for a while, but now we see it fit to speak publicly to what terror has been plaguing us for far too long. Without further ado, it is my honor to introduce Queen Leah of Guslantis," she said to the citizens that had gathered, as well as to the many cameras projecting it across the world.

Leah took Yan Lin's place at the podium, and looked straight into one of the main cameras, hoping to meet eyes with the foreign leaders miles away. "Hello. You may or may not know who I am, but I assure you in time, you will become very familiar with my name. Now, in my many years as Minister of Foreign Affairs, I've learned there are two ways to negotiate, one through diplomatic measures, which is how they train you, the other is through warfare. The majority of nations in this situation, including those in the Pact Against Cimmerien Aggression, have chosen the latter. One of the things that I personally stand for is the right for all nations, no matter the ideology, is for them to be able to provide for their citizens. Therefore, I ask, on behalf of citizens in Cogoria, in Xentherida, and nations all over, that an international ceasefire be agreed upon for at least one day. During this time, I'd like to invite representatives from the Pact and the warmongering nations to the city of Miragea, which I'm standing in as I speak today. United, I hope we can come to an agreement of what actions must be taken to end this conflict. If this call for ceasefire is not answered, we will be continuously reaching out to the nations for negotiations. Depending on the type of response we get from that, we'll decide what type of negotiations they'll be. In short, I hope you don't disappoint," Leah said, finishing the speech.

As the Prime Minister walked in, the Stortinget was roaring with sound. MP's were buzzing, asking questions, growing ever worried about the situation in Cogoria. He took his seat, and the Lawspeaker stood, and called order to the house.

"Order! All Honorable Members have been summoned to an emergency deliberation today", said the Lawspeaker.

The Prime Minister stood. "As we may or may not know already, disturbing reports are coming in from Cimmeria. Supposedly, based on intelligence reports, they are taking citizens and descendants of Cogoria and other PACA nations, and placing them in internment camps. I am calling for the deployment of more vessels to the PACA flotilla, and that the National Ready Reserve be put on high alert."

The house all agreed, with their usual "aye".

He continued, "The Statsraadet has also decided to issue an executive order to recall the ambassadors from Cimmeria and Scallendovia. The diplomats have 72 hours to leave Goyanean sovereign territory, and the embassy locales will be seized by the government. That is all."

Kim Jorgenson was in his basement. He had been living under various false aliases his entire life. This time it was Robert Howland. He had been stationed in Cimmeria since the Stortinget authorized the motion to join PACA. It was 7:59, and he has sitting by his shortwave radio. He tuned to todays frequency, and pulled out his one-time-pad. At 8:00 PM, the crackly sound of the buzzing interval was interrupted by the sound of a Goyanean woman. She started off with the usual, "Hej, fra der Faderland." (Hello, from the Fatherland) The woman then read off 3 numbers, which matched with the authorization code on his booklet. After, she started spewing out numbers and letters. After this, she was done, and said, "God Natt" (Goodnight). He looked down at the one-time-pad, and saw the decoded message. It read "HELLO ROBERT. THE POD IS NEARING. NEW FISH COMING. PREPARE FOR REBIRTH. GOODBYE"

City of Jacksonville, former Capital District, Republic of Jacksonville.

President of the Council of the Republic Yuri Nikosovich is getting settled into his new office in the soon to be restored capital of Jacksonville. All of the sudden, Vice President Brian Alexandrov comes barging into his office with Minister of Defense Andrei Zhukarov. It seems to stun the Council President, mostly because he didn't know they were in the city.

"Mr. Alexandrov, Mr. Zhukarov, I hope you have a good reason for this intrusion.", begins Councillor Nikosovich. "Seems very odd that I would not know that the two of you were here."

"Yes Yuri. We are here for good reason. As you know, President Astanov is not inside the bounds of Jacksonville right now. That makes you the legal executor of our nations foreign policy. We have just received word that Jacksonian citizens in the nation of Cimmerien have been sent to internment camps across the country. It is in your hands as to what our response should be.", begins Vice President Alexandrov.

"Well. What are our options?", responds the Councillor.

"Councillor Nikosovich, I do not believe that we should send more military forces to join the Cimmerien Blockade, rather I think we need to increase our economic sanctions and freeze the assets of the Cimmerien government and Cimmerien citizens here in Jacksonville. If he continues his aggressive action towards Jacksonian citizens there, then we should step up military action.", says Defense Minister Zhukarov.

"Yuri, I agree with the Minister. But I also believe we need to go a step further. I propose that we halt all travel and stop all trade with Cimmerien and that stop any Cimmerien ships that have cargo on them from entering our waters. I propose we send in ships to stop all his trade ships that come near our waters.", replies VP Alexandrov.

"I agree with both of you. I will release an official press statement on it immediately. Thank you gentlemen.", states Nikosovich, obviously wanting the conversation to end so he can prepare to address the nation.

Two Hours Later

President of the Council of the Republic Yuri Nikosovich is about to give his address to the nation. It will be shown on every television channel in Jacksonville and will also be on the big screens that line the cities of Jacksonville, East Jacksonville, Duval, Nassau, Nichegrad, North Jacksonville, and West Jacksonville.

Televised Speech of Yuri Nikosovich:
My Fellow Citizens,

I know that it is very rare that you would be hearing from me acting outside of my official duty as President of the Council of the Republic. It has come to my attention that the nation of Cimmerien has arrested Jacksonian citizens and put them in interment camps across the country. I was informed of this by Vice President Alexandrov and Minister Zhukarov. This action that is being taken by Cimmerien is a violation of human rights and should be condemned by every nation around the world. For this reason, it has been decided that all Cimmerien assets in Jacksonville will be frozen by the Central Bank of Jacksonville. We will also halt all air travel with Cimmerien and any ships bearing Cimmerien flags or numbers will not be allowed to come anywhere near Jacksonian waters without being boarded by the Navy and Coast Guard. It has also been decided, that two Jacksonian ships will sail to join the PACA in continuing the blockade against Cimmerien and we will also assist in any coming actions that the PACA takes. It is my sincere hope that other nation will join us in a unilateral condemnation of the Cimmerien government and Cimmerien actions taking against citizens of different countries. I wish all Jacksonian citizens in Cimmerien best wishes and I pray God's blessing upon them. Thank you.

Port of West Jacksonville.

The Navy has been alerted by Councillor Nikosovich that two ships are to set sail and join the coalition. It has been decided that the cruiser JN Fernandina and the destroyer JN Nassau. The Fernandina is commanded by Admiral Iulia Valentinova, while the Nassau is commanded by Vice Admiral Jackson Ekerovsk. The two are discussing the best time to leave harbor due to recent reports that storms in the Ivanovich Sea.

"Admiral, I think it best that we wait until the storm has passed before we set sail for Cimmerien.", begins Vice Admiral Ekerovsk.

"Yes Ekerovsk I understand what you are saying, but if we leave before the storm hits then we could make it to Cimmerien like the government wants us to. We are on a strict time frame and we need to get going now.", responds Admiral Valentinova.

"Admiral, I do not think it wise to set sail before the storm. Say we get out 20 kilometers then the storm hits. We would be trapped then with no way to turn back. I am thinking of my sailors, not the government wanting us to aid the blockade.", forcefully replies the Vice Admiral."

"I am afraid Ekerovsk, that I am going to have to go against you this time. I am looking out for the good of the Jacksonian population of Cimmerien who is being held in captivity. We are going to set sail now. Not during the storm or after the storm. We need to sail now and if I have to put someone else in charge of the JN Nassau, then I will do as such.", responds the Admiral now with anger in her eyes.

"Then you will have to do as such. I know that the Cimmerien's are committing a crime against humanity against our citizens in their country, but we must also look after the citizens and sailors of our nation. I cannot support putting my sailors at risk just because you want to stick to an time frame you go right ahead, but I will not put my sailors at risk.", says the Vice Admiral.

Before the Admiral can say anything, the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Viktor Litokov shows up and interrupts the conversation.

"Vice Admiral Ekervosk. I agree with what you are saying and I support it 100%. Just give it some time before you set sail and you will be fine. This is a direct order from Councillor Nikosovich.", says the Naval Chief of Staff.

"Thank you Sir. I believe we should set sail after the storm has passed over West Jacksonville. But in the mean time, we should send the JN Vladimir Yakovlev and the JN Sara Yakovlev to aid in the blockade.", says the Vice Admiral.

"I agree fully. Those two ships are some of the best that we have. I will order them to set sail.", responds the Naval Chief of Staff.

Less than an hour later, the JN Vladimir Yakovlev and the JN Sara Yakovlev are setting sail toward Cimmerien. They are departing the port of Voldonsk and are being commanded by Commander Dmitry Turyekov and Admiral Ilyana Jovakova. The two commanders look out their observation decks and salute each other as the two ships disappear into the fog.

At the headquarters of the League Intelligence Community in Caerleon, Administrator Comyn, the head of the Merilian Guards, had called an emergency intel session with Dogaressa Nightsong and Doge Holbach. They were all seated in one of the small conference rooms when Comyn began his presentation, "as you are both aware we had previously dispatched a small portion of the Merilian Defense Fleet to patrol the waters between the Armed Republic of Cogoria and the Kingdom of Cimmeria to monitor the situation and to have assets in the area should aid or relief be requested whenever hostilities are concluded. We also have Marshal Ruairí of the Crimson Berets leading this small fleet of ships and he reports that he and his team are standing by to assist with peace negotiations should they ever arise. As of the latest intel reports that our ships are reporting back, the situation has gone, as the saying goes, to hell in a hand basket." Doge Holbach looked over the latest intel briefings that the Guards had put together and thought them over, "I see here that the Kingdom of Cimmeria attempted to make amends with the pact and pull out of the war. While I understand the response from the Armed Republic of Cogoria in that declarations of war should have consequences and not be made lightly, the Cogorian government response for a full surrender and then the Kingdom of Cimmeria continuing hostilities is not going to make this easy in getting a peace deal together. That and now the Scallendovians are getting involved on the side of the Kingdom of Cimmeria which is throwing the entire Phoenix Union into discord." Comyn looked over at the Doge, "sadly not and the Marshal agrees that the longer hostile words and actions are thrown about, the further we get from getting any form of ceasefire or peace in place." Dogaressa Nightsong had been quiet as she listened to her two colleagues discussing the deteriorating situation while she read over the reports of the call for a ceasefire from Guslantis as well as the brief mentions of possible notions of peace overtures from Ceretis and Imperium Augustum. She finally spoke up, "Quite a few nations have put forward calls for a ceasefire or to offer their assistance with establishing a peace deal. Can any truly be trusted in that task to be as impartial as possible or is it all going to fall apart from the word go?" Comyn mulled over his response, "I believe that we can trust Ceretis to do the right thing seeing as they are an ally of ours through the Trillium Accord and I feel that Queen Leah of Guslantis will, in the end, attempt to do the right thing and try to help bring a peaceful resolution to this conflict. As for Imperium Augustum, I truly do not know how to feel about them. On the one hand they may be sincere in their efforts to see peace between Cogoria and Cimmeria and on the other hand, they may try and spread their latin culture further. As it stands, our response should be one of wait and see how the whole situation unfolds and be ready to act at a moment's notice should a ceasefire or peace deal seem feasible." Comyn turned to address Dogaressa Nightsong, "reach out to Queen Leah of Guslantis and let her know that she will have the full backing of The Rose League in seeing a ceasefire put into place." He then turned to address Doge Holbach, "go through the proper Ele'Ar channels and inform President Sarrat and President Laux of what took place during this meeting and tell them that for now, we are taking a wait and see approach. Have them work with the Military and Civil Enforcement Office Commandants to flag any visas for nationals from Cogoria or Cimmeria. While we will not pull in anyone for questioning seeing as they have done nothing wrong, it would be good idea so we can better track them and offer any embassy assistance should they wish to contact home or stay in Kalti or Andalucia for a longer period of time until hostilities die down in their home country." With the meeting concluded, all three took their leave.

To: Queen Leah of Guslantis
From: Dogaressa Solveig Nightsong

My colleagues and I have seen your broadcast calling for a ceasefire to the conflict between the Armed Republic of Cogoria and the Kingdom of Cimmeria. I am informing you that you will have the full backing and support of The Rose League in crafting and implementing a ceasefire and we support your invitation to the nations involved to come together in one place to discuss possible terms to ending the entire conflict. Should there be anything more that you require of us, feel free to reach out to either myself or my counterpart in Andalucia, Doge Damien Holbach.
