Greetings from your friends in Europeia & Estalcia! Summer has flown by and I'm pleased to announce I'm once again serving as Minister of Foreign Affairs. We have entered a new term of government so we have exciting news below about the outcome of our July Presidential Elections, a Senate By-Election, and much more. We also bring updates from our Constitutional Convention and the recently hosted 2026 Defender Olympics.

July Presidential Election Results
In July, Former Chief Justice and Vice President Comfed was elected unopposed as President with 77.6% of the total vote alongside incumbent Foreign Affairs Minister Malaxa as Vice President. In an election revolving around integration and the General Assembly, President Comfed exhorted citizens to get involved in the Ministries that drive Europeia and Estalcia while reflecting on the streak of uncompetitive elections that have brought reform conversations to the forefront of regional discourse.
Constitutional Convention Updates
The Constitutional Convention is taking its initial steps by convening the three topic committees that will be charged with considering the role of the Executive, the Delegacy, and the Legislature. While official committee names are pending, the third committee charged with consideration of the legislature is already revisiting legislation proposed in the Senate to establish a Regional Assembly with the potential for Caucuses and oversight powers over the Executive. Constitutional Convention Chair McEntire also introduced the Imaginarium, a creative concept space for Convention participants to take notes and explore crazy ideas that other participants can offer feedback on.
Senate By-Election Results
In light of the resignation of Senator Rand, a By-Election was triggered and standing was opened on July 28th. 5 people decided to stand as a candidate and all were given only 3 days to campaign and release their platforms before polls open on July 31st. A total of 54 votes were cast in the By-Election, in which Langburn successfully secured the seat in the Senate with 24 votes, or 44.4% of the votes cast. Lovateria and Atlantica secured the 2nd and 3rd places, with 14 votes and 11 votes respectively. This will be Langburn’s first time as a Senator, having also run in the General Election in May but failed to secure a seat.
2026 Defender Olympics
The Defender Olympics returned for their 7th year running from July 23rd to July 26th hosted by a myriad of volunteer organizers. For the Olympics, participants compete in a total of 5 Olympic Events to earn Gold, Silver, or Bronze medals tracked by military organization and individual winnings. This year’s events included new practice sessions and beginner and advanced classes to promote newcomer involvement. The military organization medal scoreboard was topped by the Galactic Armada with 14 medals earned and the individual medal scoreboard was topped by Art Landia of the North Pacific Army – congrats to all of the medal-earning Olympians!
