Hello everyone!
First of all, I'd like to introduce myself to those who may not know me yet. My name is Mete, and I represent Trebizondia.
Outside of work and family life, I've always enjoyed gaming and participating in online communities. Since I was young, I've loved contributing to forums, helping communities grow, and taking on responsibilities whenever I could. That is one of the reasons why NationStates and especially The North Pacific quickly became a place where I felt at home.
I founded Trebizondia on December 18, 2025, joined The North Pacific on December 21, and applied for citizenship the very same day. After receiving my citizenship on December 28, I immersed myself in the community as much as possible. I wanted to contribute, earn people's trust, and become an active member rather than simply another citizen on the roster. Since then, I have been fortunate enough to serve in several positions across the region. I currently serve as your Deputy Speaker, a role I have held since March 13. In addition, I continue to serve as a Frontliner in the Ministry of Integration, where I help welcome new members to our region, participate in outreach efforts, and celebrate milestones such as birthdays to help make our community feel more welcoming and active.
I also had the honor of serving as Deputy Minister of Integration for nearly three months. Unfortunately, because Discord remains inaccessible in Türkiye without workarounds, I realized I could not dedicate the level of activity that position deserved, so I stepped down. I believe that if I cannot fully meet the expectations of a role, the responsible decision is to let someone else take over. However, I have proudly continued serving the Ministry as a Frontliner and remain committed to contributing wherever I can.
Serving as Deputy Speaker has been one of the most rewarding experiences I have had in The North Pacific. For the past four months, I have worked closely with the Speaker's Office, and one of my primary responsibilities has been processing citizenship approvals and helping keep the Regional Assembly running smoothly. That experience is exactly why I accepted my nomination for Speaker. I am not seeking this office simply because it is the next step. I am running because I genuinely enjoy serving this community, and I believe I have demonstrated that I am reliable, active, and committed to the responsibilities entrusted to me.
If elected Speaker, one of my first priorities will be improving the organization of the Regional Assembly forum. Over time, the section has accumulated a large number of topics, some of which are outdated or difficult to navigate. I would like to conduct a thorough review, reorganize the forum where appropriate, archive obsolete material, and make important information easier for both new and experienced Assembly members to find.
Although I have only been a member of The North Pacific for a relatively short time, I hope my actions have shown that dedication matters more than seniority. Since joining, I have tried to contribute whenever possible, to earn the trust of this community through my work rather than my words, and to support the institutions that make The North Pacific one of NationStates strongest regions.
One of my long term goals in The North Pacific is to one day serve on the Security Council. I have spoken about that ambition before, and it remains something I hope to achieve in the future. However, I believe positions like that are earned through consistent service, reliability, and the trust of the community not simply by aspiring to them.
Serving as Speaker would be an important opportunity for me to continue earning your trust, build on the experience I have gained as Deputy Speaker, and contribute even more to the institutions that make The North Pacific strong. Regardless of what the future holds, my focus will always be on doing the job I have been entrusted with to the very best of my ability.
Thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout my journey so far. It has been an honor to serve as your Deputy Speaker, and I would be deeply honored to continue serving you as Speaker.
Thank you for your time.
Best regards,
