Opening Address - March 2026
That's the introduction you might read if you received any of the 13 mass telegrams I sent this term. I bring this up because I want to remind everyone of the primary goals of the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs. Those are to advance regional interest, largely by mobilizing our WA residents to vote with the delegate, and to facilitate the democratic WA vote. That's exactly what we did during my first term as WA Minister, and what we'll aim to do even better going forward. I first want to extend a big thank you to everyone who contributed to contributed to posting threads and writing IFVs this term. Chief of staff Kaschovia has generously provided me with a spreadsheet to use as a basis for my data, so here's a table of all those who wrote IFVs between my inauguration and Halsoni's state of the region address.
| Islandwalk | 9 |
|---|---|
| Spaceship Earth | 2 |
| Ambis (Charming Cthulhu) | 2 |
| Arty | 1 |
| Ghost | 1 |
| Ginger (SussyAmongUsLand) | 1 |
| Fachu | 1 |
Learning from the previous term, I've created a spreadsheet for myself to remember a lot of the miscellaneous things like updating the WFE with new IFVs. However, in terms of IFV writing and especially thread maintenance I would love to see more involvement by others. I won't be here forever and there must always be someone who knows how to do every aspect of the ministry's work. Because there is also a nonzero amount of training involved, I'd like to look into having our staffers start to specialize in certain jobs so they get really good at that one thing rather than only having bare-minimum ability in everything. I also have plans to ensure TNP authors are properly represented in resolutions intended to pass post-reset, but also for those resolutions to be both significant and of high quality. Overall, the plan isn't just to excel at the basics, but to go beyond that to improve the standing of our region.
The current deputy minister roster of @Fachu, @Cretox, and @Ambis will remain the same, and I trust in their ability to cover all essential functions of the ministry should I not be present.
Here's to another fruitful term!
Thanks for your time,
Islandwalk
