In the interests of providing the public with a greater choice of justices given the vote to re-open nominations, I am presenting my candidacy for the Court.

A somewhat old summary of my public legal experience can be found here. Since then, my primary experience with the law has been in serving many terms in the cabinet, which has sometimes required interpretation of the law - especially in the realm of treaties and the law governing the NPA.

Obviously as I am currently serving in the cabinet, I would be required to resign should I be elected. I feel that there are a number of potential successors to my role who would be fully qualified, so I would not have problem handing off the foreign ministry to them. That said, I would also be happy to stay in my current role if I am not elected.

Questions welcome.

What makes you decide to run now, and not in the initial election that ended with RON?
I was satisfied with the three candidates who were standing initially, so I didn't feel that there was a particular need for anyone else to stand. When the region voted to re-open nominations, I saw it as a call for more candidates to stand, and so I decided that it would be a good time to put myself forward.
