Remember when I did this a few years ago?: https://forum.thenorthpacific.org/topic/9195616/
Let's do it again!
Side note on previous positions which you can all find in the previous thread, this is now the second time I've decided to run for Justice, and, just like last time, someone else is the CEC. Just noting the similarity. It's Deja Vu!
Q&A format. I don't have a particular platform other than some examples from the previous thread:
I admit that I don't have any spectacular platform on how to revolutionize the court, but being a Justice really isn't about that, in my opinion. It's about being there to listen to the facts, interpret the law, and deliver just and fair outcomes. I do aspire to be as concise and easily understandable as possible when writing decisions, but without omitting the facts and other important considerations. I'm also not afraid of the idea of writing concurring and dissenting opinions.
I am so confident someone would go back to that thread and ask me about that and whether my position has changed at all enough that I'm just going to jump ahead of that one and answer it straight away. No, it really hasn't. Look at the last term. Barely anything happened. But, that's the beauty of it. It is a reactionary job. And most of the job recently has been wiping out antiquated case law that got overwritten by new legislation. I'm happy to keep it that way. The less R4Rs about new governmentally shady shenanigans and less criminal cases for, well, criminal behavior, the better!
I will absolutely do that again. I am going to make that a tradition for every time I end up on the bench. Will you make your fellow justices as Sim characters when you win?
That ship has sailed.Do you intend to try to bring back the AG...
Now that you've seen some examples, I look forward to some brand new content from you. Let's hear it!
