In the south of Sorras's large eastern continent, a tenuous alliance of Counties, Cities, and Highland Clans persists. Founded in the city of Cyffra (01 Years of the League), the League of Cyffraedin was originally conceived as a defensive pact between the trading cities in the North, before expanding to the rural lords of the South and the Thanes in the Highlands. All these different realms, populated by a variety of cultures, stood together in opposition to a now-forgotten enemy.
Today, the threat from long-forgotten enemies is gone, but the League is not without trouble. The threats to Cyffraedin are now human in nature; rivalry, war, and betrayal may yet see the end of the League.
The League is split into three main regions, each characterised by their own culture, dialects, and system of governance. In the North, or the Northlands, mercantile city-states hold sway; in the Highlands, familial clans pledge themselves to a Thane; and in the South, or Southlands, the five Great Lords rule over large tracts of land, portioned out to lesser lords and knights.
House Trystan is one of the five Great Houses of the Cyffraedin Southlands, ruling over territories in the south west of the League from their island castle, Fernwood. The Trystan arms are a white ship on a blue field (Azure, a ship Argent), and their motto is By the Tides, both reflecting their nature as great seafarers. The house's current head is Adamír Trystan, Lord of Fernwood.
House Harlyn of Greenfort Not While I Defend It
House Harlyn is one of the five Great Houses of the Southlands, ruling over territory in the centre of the league. Their capital is the riverside castle and city of Greenfort. The Harlyn arms are a green tower on a white and blue field (Party per fess Argent and Azure, a castle Vert), representing the Greenfort, and their motto is Not While I Defend It. The house's current head is Ambryl Harlyn, Lord of the Greenfort.
House Cailin of the Moat Trust and Fear Not
House Cailin is one of the five Great Houses of the southern Cyffraedin, and one of the three considered the most important and powerful. The House rules vast territories in eastern Cyffraedin from their chief fortress, the Moat. The Cailin arms are three silver towers on a gold field (Azure, three castles Or), and their motto is Trust and Fear Not. The house's current head is Llerydíl Cailin, Lord of the Moat.
House Florys of Ithir The Just are Strong
House Florys is a Great House of Cyffraedin's Southlands, and one of the three most prestigious. It rules a large territory in the south from the capital, Ithir. The Florys arms are a red fox on a gold field (Or, a fox Gules), and their motto is The Just are Strong. The House's current head is Feádor Florys, Lord of Ithir.
House Reyne of Greybridge Ever Upwards
House Reyne is one of the five southern Great Houses, and is considered among the three most powerful of that number. The Reynes rule over territory in the northernmost reaches of the Southlands, bordering upon the Thanages of the Highlands and possessing much highland territory itself. The House's capital is the great mountain fortress of Greybridge, and the city that surrounds it. The Reyne arms a silver bridge on a red field (Gules, a bridge Argent), and their motto is Ever Upwards. The House's current head is Canádyn Reyne, Lord of Greybridge.
