The World Assembly,

Appreciating the temporary festivity of the "Great Costume Party", as stipulated by SC 521, which occurred deep within the bowels of the World Assembly Headquarters and consisted of many revelries, and

Concerned at the potential for reoccurrence of this event, given the hostilities that inevitably broke out following the announcement of the winner of the costume contest, complete with accusations of corruption, full-length structured debates, and a cage match between President Jolene Josephine Jefferson of Haymarket Riot and Ambassador Gertrude Pullman of Electrum, and

Believing that the now-regular occurrence of seasonal declarations in order to commemorate some superfluous or otherwise arbitrary event sinks below the bar of events notable enough for recognition by this council, and distracts the members from the very real occurrences of international war, regional instability, and recognition of members of the international community worthy of recognition, therefore

Repeals SC 521, "The Great Costume Party".

Non-WA against. The SC isn't harmed by this type of frivolity and doesn't benefit from it being taken off its books.

Simone's holiday resolution was better in pretty much every regard imo and we had no problem killing that

Who is this mythical "we" we're talking about? Vote was 6:6 here and we went against.
 
Against, on the assumption that we also should not generally go against an SC resolution from Europe, even though they almost always abstain.
