JayDee Re-elected for Second Term

Written by Westinor

On Friday, October 27th, 2023’s final presidential election began. Following what had been an exciting and at times tumultuous term, incumbent JayDee sought out a re-election, campaigning on the continuation of the groundbreaking steps his administration has taken both at home and abroad. Following several declarations of war, incredible offensive operations and liberations abroad, the bolstering of some domestic ministries, and the stagnation of others, JayDee has pledged to continue surging forward in the war efforts while taking the time to revitalize ministries that have been left behind, like Culture, Communications, and Radio. His Vice President, Pichtonia, stepped back from the ticket to focus on their Gameside duties as Vice Delegate, making way for previous president and recently-ovated Rand to come forward and accompany him on the ticket.

JayDee faced no competition, despite remarkably-low satisfaction with the Presidential field. Many noted their dissatisfaction was not necessarily a product of dissatisfaction with JayDee’s performance, which stood strong at 72.4%, but rather a preference for competition and the argument that uncontested candidates often fare worse in their terms. A Flash Poll by McEntire’s Arnhelm Alternative saw JayDee failing to gain majority support for re-election and losing to a “generic other candidate”, with suggested candidates including Kazaman, PhDre, and upc. None chose to stand against JayDee, though, with the election coming to a close with 39 or 70.9% of the votes for JayDee and 16 or 29.1% of the votes to re-open elections.

JayDee now faces what will surely be a challenging term ahead, with several wars to manage and a variety of domestic trials. As the first two-term president in five terms, JayDee has shaken up much of his cabinet, choosing to bring in the following roster:

Grand Admiral: Vor
Attorney General: Calvin Coolidge
Gameside: Pichtonia
Outreach: ICH
Culture: Ellenburg
Communications: Westinor
Radio: Chipoli
World Assembly Affairs: Josi
Foreign Affairs: Kazaman
