The Sekari Empire

The Sekari Empire is an interstellar empire located in the Inaius sector of the Milky Way galaxy’s Saggitarius arm.

The Sekari Empire was founded in the Tellusian calendar year of 2446 when, after a period of political turmoil and civil war on Cyrn between prominent political factions, a general and political figure by the name of Arrich Monis Suliir seized power and reorganized the oligarchic Cyrnian Republic into an increasingly-centralized state. Afterward, he proclaimed his followers and subjects a new people—the Sekari—and was crowned emperor. The fledgling Empire, which already held authority over the whole of Cyrn at its founding, returned to space in 2463—creating and growing a stellar dominion across the Silaf System. The Sekari went interstellar in 2477 after the Empire redeveloped a means of faster-than-light interstellar travel. In the five centuries since, the Empire has expanded, consolidated, and developed a vast interstellar hegemony.

As of 2957, the Sekari Empire is governed as an imperial, authoritarian monarchy. The head-of-state and most powerful position within the Empire is the Sekari Emperor, currently Esdran III–the fourth emperor of the Valagan Dynasty. The Imperial Consul serves as the chief advisor to the Emperor; the current Imperial Consul is Taurer Carvian Preniant, the Second Baron of Runachia. The Sekari Empire spans over one hundred star systems in the Inaius sector, with many settlements and a population of hundreds of billions. The Empire’s administrative capital is the world of Cyrn—home to the Sekari people since 2280.

The Sekari Empire is surrounded by numerous foreign powers, namely the Greater Siezon Union, Nova Terran Confederacy, Noxcedeian Hegemony, the Ottan Republic, the Cimmerian Republic, and the remnants of the ancient Kyaal civilization.

Map and Cosmography

The Sekari Empire spans 137 star systems within the Inaius sector of the Milky Way, spread between subsectors 007, 008, 011, and 012. Most of the Empire’s star systems possess at least one settlement, whether it be located on a planet, moon, or artificial spaceborne habitat.

Most of the Empire’s space is dominated by unary star systems–those with only one star, which account for seventy-eight out of 137 systems. Binary star systems–which possess two stars–account for thirty-five Sekari systems. Trinary systems with three stars account for sixteen systems. Quaternary systems with four stars account for five total systems and quintuple systems with five stars account for three. A total of 231 individual stars exist within the Sekari Empire.

Most individual stars within Sekari space are classified as main sequence stars, including the star Rhea within the Rhea-Ushur binary system–around which Cyrn itself orbits. There are a total of 114 stars in Imperial space classified as main sequence stars. Red dwarf stars are the second most common within the Empire, with seventy-two individual stars. Red giants account for twenty-three individual stars in the Empire, blue giants account for twelve, and red supergiants account for ten.
