The Court has selected @Lord Dominator to be Bar Commissioner subject to a confirmation vote by the Regional Assembly, in place of Vivanco.
The Court asks Speaker @Skaraborg to hold the confirmation vote at the Regional Assembly's earliest convenience.
The Court has nominated @Lord Dominator to succeed Vivanco as Bar Commissioner of the Bar Commission. I now open the floor for debate and discussion on this appointment.

If @Attempted Socialism would be so kind as to deliver a brief statement on behalf of the Court in support of their nomination, I'm sure the citizenry would appreciate it.

Once moved, the motion that I will be putting to vote for this confirmation is as follows:

The Regional Assembly, in accordance with the Court's nomination, appoints Lord Dominator as Bar Commissioner.

Lord Dominator has served on the Bar Commission since its inception, is an excellent jurist, former judge, and has the experience to review the abilities of applicants as well as current members of the Bar to serve as prosecutors. The Bar will be well served with Lord Dominator returning to the Bar Commission.

I want to add a comment about the Court's selection process, since this is our second nomination for the seat. In our earlier selection we had another eminently qualified person, who was coming from outside the Bar and Court. That was a quite deliberate attempt to expand the current roster of possible prosecutors and expand the bench of experienced jurists who can serve on the Court, since as the (now dropped) indictment shows, a similar situation could leave the region with only one citizen eligible to serve as prosecutor and a need for two or even three Temporary Hearing Officers. The Court has been reaching out to citizens whose qualifications are not in doubt, but who haven't yet made their name in the legal circles of The North Pacific (Or who made their name in time past), to see if we can engage more people. While Lord Dominator obviously has made their name in our legal system, returning them to the Bar Commission will enable the Commission to process the applicants of some of these eminently qualified people who have applied for Bar Membership in the meantime.
I hope the Regional Assembly agrees with the Court's thinking, and will approve the Court's nomination.
