It has been brought to my attention that Zyvet's citizenship lapsed back in April. From a cursory glance that means the Delegate shall appoint a replacement. If you agree then I will notify the Delegate.

Embarrassing that this escaped notice. But a lot of things were in motion last month. No need for a discussion, the delegate needs to appoint a replacement. Not to divert from the topic but we need to pick a replacement for Vivanco, since that was a Court appointee confirmed by the RA.

Any ideas?

I don’t have one off the top of my head at least, but I’ll go look at the people already confirmed to the bar and see if anyone sticks out in a bit

I looked at the roster, and as I could see all citizens are either Justice, Delegate, Court Commissioner -- or Dreadton. So if we want to appoint someone from the Bar, we have our pick.
If we want to look beyond the bar, Comfed has previously been posting good, cogent briefs. So there is an interest and conpetence in Court matters.

I'm trying to recall if there are any regular citizens we know could do the job too, perhaps getting more people interested in serving in/around the Court. While we can appoint a minister (Dreadton or Comfed), I would want us to consider someone without too many other positions.

I would suggest reaching out to Sanctaria and Darcania to see if they are interested. Then I would ask Comfed, and finally Dreadton. Depending on who indicates willingness to do it, we can then propose one name to the Delegate and send the other one to the RA.

Darcania isn't sure they're the right one for the job, but they'll have a think about it. So I suggest we start with nominating Sanctaria, and I will suggest Gorundu waits a few days for Darcania to decide.

The question of picking non-bar members has been brought up. My take on this is simple, as we have already discussed, there are few members of the bar as it is and they wear a lot of hats. We want to expand the number of people involved and favor those with no additional responsibilities. Not that this really asks much of them as it is, but it’s our first preference.

Secondly, and perhaps even more important, the members of the commission don’t have to be members of the bar. The original commission wasn’t on the bar either, the bar didn’t exist! It’s a regulatory body deciding qualifications for prosecutors, and membership in the bar doesn’t automatically guarantee any extra knowledge or insight into what that entails. If it is deemed a problem the nominee is not a member of the bar, the RA can vote them down or amend the law to require bar membership. I wouldn’t be in favor of such a move however, as this is a volunteer-dependent position and strictly speaking, being bar-qualified isn’t actually relevant to managing the bar. I’m happy to express as much to the RA but I’d love to hear your thoughts as well.
