Repeal "Museums of Musical Heritage"
Category: Repeal | Target: GA #86
Proposed by: West Vesteria | No forum thread
Replacement: None

The World Assembly,

Recognizing the importance of preserving cultural history & musical heritage,

Commending the goals & efforts that GA #86 “Museums of Musical Heritage” strives to achieve,

Troubled that the resolution fails to explain how the MoMH will provide consultation or assistance to member nations on how to archive & teach musical information more efficiently; only mentioning that they will serve as partners to member nation’s existing musical institutions,

Noting that member nations are able to post public & easily accessible information about cultural music on their respective government websites, without assistance from the Museums of Musical Heritage Database,

Concerned that the MoMH creates an unnecessary expense for General Accounting Office & the WA annual budget by overlapping with existing government institutions or private entities that already educate the public on musical affairs & history,

Seeking the World Assembly to pass a new resolution with a more elaborate plan to the international preservation & education of cultural music,

Hereby repeals GA #86 "Museums of Musical Heritage".
Note: Only votes from TNP WA nations and NPA personnel will be counted. If you do not meet these requirements, please add (non-WA) or something of that effect to your vote.
Voting Instructions:

  • Vote Against if you want the Delegate to vote Against the resolution.
  • Vote Abstain if you want the Delegate to abstain from voting on this resolution.

Nah. No change from previous stance.

(Non-WA) I am against this proposal. There are better written possible repeals of GA #086, which this would prevent from passing. The arguments presented in this repeal are a mixture of being unconvincing, and requiring further elaboration. It could certainly have benefited from some drafting, which would have enabled the expansion of some of the arguments that the repeal makes. Drafting forumside is not necessarily required for a good proposal, but this repeal shows no evidence of proper, collaborative drafting whatsoever.
