The Tardineanni Armada had now arrived at a new land. The sailors, who 20 years ago, would never even dream of colonizing overseas, were now setting foot in another town. The city itself seemed like a burgeoning market town with a large, yet shabby, port. It looked like whoever was in charge of the town did not care about it enough to give it proper maintenance. It looked like it rained recently, however, the air still felt moisty and breathing was quite difficult to the overdressed soldiers.

With his firemaker in hand, General Rikari Akhor was the one in charge of the Colonizing Delegation. Ironically, the Tardineanni army who once promised never to use the Vivanquian arms, were now using it for their own colonization efforts. Of course, after 15 years since the first contact, their relationship with the Vivanquian had improved to the point they agreed the split the world between them both, much to the dismay of others.

They all stepped down from the ship towards the shore, approaching the natives who were passing by. However, they initially didn't draw the attention of the natives. In fact, many people simply ignored them, minding their own business as they walked down the shore. That is, until Rikari shouted in Tardineanni at the ones nearest: "Who's in charge here?". No one seemed to understand it, for obvious reasons. Instead they looked with curiosity to the strangely dressed people, armed with a rather strange looking sword, at least by their standards. The General kept repeating the same phrase in Vivanquian and Tardineanni alternately until, after a few moments, one of the curious passersby approached and tried to make contact with the much taller than average soldiers* .

"What yer' doin' over her'?" The man approached Rikari, the one who seemed to be the leader of those strange people. "Me name is John, what is yers'?" John pointed at himself while saying his name, then pointed at Rikari while asking for the General's name.

"Ja'm Rikari, thunen Capitan.*" He did the same as the native, pointing at himself then at the soldiers who were with him. However, John seemed not to understand well what was his name.

"Richari?", John asked with a confused look then scoffed. "Seems like we've got a Richard here. Always the Richards."

Rikari didn't understand what was so funny about his name or why was the man talking repeatedly the word Rishard. He then pointed to the sea and the sky as he thought they were perhaps speaking a variant of Vivanquian. "Azura?" He said the color's name in hopes that the man would finally get it. The native answered, trying to mimic the Tardineanni. "This not Assuran?" The man pointed at the land where he stood, thinking the sailors were lost and searching for whatever the hell Assuran was.

That was when he thought the land's name was Assuran and proceed to grab the native by his hand and take him to his quarters. The native didn't understand what was going on until the ship sailed again. He was being taken away from their home to wherever these strange people were from. Would him return to their home? He didn't know at the time, but he would be the main reason Tardine was going to successfully colonize their land. However, at the time, John just hoped to get back home safely. The home that soon would be Tardine's property.

Excerpt from the Sailoring Journal of the Great General Rikari Akhor (1495-1566):
They are a truly strange lot. Surely they aren't Vivanquian, however they do seem to speak the language at least a fair amount, considering how their speech sounded to us. The native, whose name is Djon* was secured and he surely will teach us his language if he wants to get back home in one piece. In spite of being here against his will, the native is overly cooperative and, event though not being able to speak a single word of our language, yet, he seems to be captivating the sailors with his full of nonsense babbling. It also seems that like he likes to drink, which was also seemingly common amongst those at the port. There was a lot of people drinking in the tight alleys and smelly streets. Everyone is now partying in honor of the Great Holy Empress and toasting to another successful venture into the seas. I shall partake with them this instant, otherwise the raccoons will go crazy*.

*Meburia was the Tardineanni name for the city of Weskerby during the occupation, which means "Land of Shorts". Rather an insulting way to refer that the average Assuranni (Esthursian) was smaller than the average Tardineanni. There's another theory not very well accepted by the academics that says the term actually refer to the size of the native men's member size, although it has been dismissed by the historians as not historically accurate.
*Djon is a Tardineannized version of John (it considers only the sounding rather than meaning).
*"I'm Rikari, their captain." The Tardineanni navy used the term Capitan (derived from the Vivanquian Capitán) to address the leader of any Armada which, in this case, was the General Rikari.
*Raccoon is how the sailors were referred at the time. Also, saying that the raccoons would go crazy might mean that he feared for mutiny or simply a quarrel of some sorts.
