Notice of absence: I will be travelling from the 12th to the 26th of January and I do not know what my internet situation will be during that time. Under any circumstances I do not expect to have time to respond to legal issues.
Unlike other titles I cannot see an option to declare my absence legally, but in case a legal case comes up, I guess the easiest way to deal with it is that I recuse myself for the duration.
Just as a reminder, I will be gone from tomorrow to the 26th. If a legal case comes up I hope this notice is sufficient to serve as my recusal during my absence.
For when St George gets elected: we will have to select a new Chief Justice to serve the remainder of the term. We have 5 days from the end of the election.
My reaction is largely the same, I have no strong opinion one way or the other, but we will have to choose within 5 days of the election, or it will default to the one who received the most votes, which I expect will be you (or St George), seeing as you came second and I came third in the November election. I just posted the notice because I got reminded of the fact. We'll have enough time when St George gets here to select one.
@St George and @Lord Dominator we have until the 13th to select a Chief Justice (I don't know why I wrote 5 days, the law clearly says 7 -- brainfart, I guess) or it will default to the one with the highest vote, which will be Lord Dominator if we go solely by the General Election (38 v. my 18) or St George (54 outright) if we include the Special Election.
I'd be willing to serve out the term, but given the votes and TNP experience I think I have the weakest "claim" to the position.
I don’t have any particular inclination (and in fact would view my other position as Bar Commissioner to perhaps be too many legal positions in one) to being CJ, but do not have any other objection to serving, nor particularly any objection to you serving @Attempted Socialism.
