Night Flying on April 23, 2024​

Last night the photographer was instructor for the second half of a Night Rating for a recently qualified pilot.

The flight involved a few circuits followed by a navigation exercise from Cardiff to Swansea to the Severn Bridge and back to Cardiff.

There was a full moon and little or no cloud cover.

It was a perfect night.

The view is of Avonmouth as seen from 3000' above Caldicot.

My Memories of The Tri-National Tornado Training Establishment at RAF Cottesmore

Here's another German Air Force Tornado I used to work on G-22

The TTTE Tornado fleet at the time was approximately made up of 23 German aircraft, 21 from the UK and eight from Italy, these figures fluctuated over time.
It always seemed to me I was working on German Tornadoes more than any of the others.

Trying to find the history on this aircraft I came across this....

GetJet Airlines' 2004 Boeing 737-85P(WL) LY-TUI departing Cardiff for Brest (BES) as AZE880P, seen in ex-TUI colours. Saturday 9th March 2024.

HISTORY
First Flight: 9th November 2004
Serial Nos.: 33974 / 1610

This Boeing 737-800 was delivered to Air Europa as EC-JBL in November 2004.
The aircraft was fitted with winglets in April 2017.
A few months later in July 2017, the aircraft was acquired by TUI Airlines Belgium, and reregistered OO-TUP.
It was withdrawn from service and stored at Naples (NAP) in October 2023.
In February 2024, the aircraft was delivered to GetJet Airlines and reregistered LY-TUI.
The aircraft had been operating for GetJet Airlines for less than a month when this photo was taken.
