After some months or reconstruction, the president is on the balcony of the palace ready to give his speech. There are hundreds of persons in the nearby square after the civil war that the Guilleans just suffered. Guilleana is a country in ruins after the conflict. Most buildings were destroyed, people have severe economic problems and there isn't a lot of economic activity since most of the factories were also destroyed. The citicens have hope on this new government.

Greetings, citicens of Guilleana. Today it's a historical day for everyone living in our wonderful nation. Our nation and people have been though lots of situations, both good and bad. Today, we are on one of those good days, since, from now on, we will be united as never before. Auroria and the world will notice that Guilleana is a great nation full of great people. The old, failed regime that we used to have is over. It's time for democracy. Today, I proclaim the First Guillean Commonwealth. Peace and Unity!

The crowd cheered, and the president left the balcony satisfied with his speech. He knew that Guilleana had a lot of problems, mainly low incomes, poverty and inequality and needed to solve them before the next general elections. But he has a plan to re-industrialize the country and make it better for everyone.

The new government is going to be formed by 9 ministers, as stated by the president today in the press conference. The Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Ministry of Defense.

But some artists are not happy with this, since they don't find a "Ministry of Culture". That's why some painters, arquitects and poets demonstrated today in Vellavista Square. They think that Guillean Culture shall not disappear no matter the situation, and launched a campaign on Television called "Objective Culture" with their motto being "Imagine if our traditions were no longer here". Normal people were not focused on that right now though.
The head of the campaign, Andrés Villaverde, who is a famous painter, wrote a letter to the president.


Dear President of the Guillean Commonwealth:

Over the years, we Guilleans have identified ourselves with our culture, including our language, food and many other aspects that make us Guilleans unique in the world.

Our society is is a difficult moment right now, and we need a reason to celebrate and to be happy. That reason is our culture and the legacy of our ancestors. We need to preserve that.

Me, and the campaign Objective Culture ask the creation of a "Ministry of Culture", that would preserve our traditions, which are more important than ever now.

He finished writing the letter and took some paint, his easel, and a canvas and started painting. He didn't have the name for it yet, but he knew what was it going to be about.

After the President received the letter from Andrés Villaverde, he decided to incorporate a Ministry of Culture to the government, with Andrés Villaverde itself as the minister.

The reconstruction of Guilleana is starting. The main economic activity is still Agriclture and Trade between small communities and in big cities. Some people say that Guilleana is in the Middle Ages. That's why the government approved today an investment in building roads and other types of infrastructure. This plan is expected to be finished in 10 years, which is enough time for external countries to be advanced and give no space to Guilleana to be "The next big thing". Only time will say. Incomes are still low, and the Ministry of Finance wants to implement a 5-year plan to industrialize the country again, just like before the crisis.

Economists have been calculating the economic damage of the crisis, but there are only rough estimates of this. Between 60 and 80% of the Guillean Economy has been lost due to the war.

Only time will say when Guilleana will be a developed country again.

The reconstruction of Guilleana isn't going as well as some people expected. Economic damage escalates to millions. That's why the new "Constitutional Assembly" has celebreated it's first Plenary Session, where several people are represented. Each region has been granted a vote, and the first law that was going to e voted is the construcion of new roads, to help communicate region better. Out of the 17 regions, 8 voted against and 9 for. These 8 regions think that the government shouldn't focus first on re-building, but on extracting resources and selling them to other nations that need them so that Guilleana makes a big amount of money that can be used to build roads, paths and other goods.

Some people have started re-activating the economy by creating their own private campaign to boost local trade. This campaign even included things like books, which created the first "library" after the war. The Minister of Culture, Andrés Villaverde, a famous painter, applauded this movement by the Guillean People.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs has made an announcement that they will start a campaign soon so that other nations can stablish relations with Guilleana.
