Arcfield is a Democratic nation that situates itself in a Plateau. The plateau itself is cracked, and these cracks is what Arcfielders call crevasses. They are massive holes which have no known bottom, with the deepest expedition reaching 10 kilometres before coming back up due to low supplies. The crevasses themselves are filled with mist after around a kilometre down and it gets too thick for the sun to pierce after 1 more kilometre. Arcfielders have become expert bridge builders in order to cross these massive canyons, with each student required to know enough engineering in constructing bridges. Due to the large amount of canyons and few bits of fertile land Arcfield has a population of around 61 million, with most of that population in the cities and very few located outside of it. In terms of military there are a few military bases located around the nation at points where there are natural crossings, the ends of bridges, and in other strategic points. Arcfield is situated on top of a plateau raised around 300 meters above the surrounding terrain, but the slope to get up is shallow in plenty of places allowing for easy exiting and entering of the nation. The plateau itself is flat, extremely flat. For example, if you went to one of the corners of the plateau, and took a high powered telescope with you, you could see the capital city if the planet was not curved. Some people outside of Arcfield even go and call it 'The Realm Where the Dead Walk' as hallucinations and mirages are common. In terms of weather there are only thunderstorms and a few regular rainy day with even fewer sunny says. This is where a large majority of Arcfield's electricity is produced. With the Lightning Storms itself produces around 50 trillion watts(or 50 Terawatts) a month. It is not a common sight to see places flying in the sky.
