The Aed Kaenë
A race of near-human beings with mysterious arcane powers and dark secrets with their roots shrouded in pre-history, far before the rise of humanity as the dominant force on Eras, the Aed Kaenë have doggedly persisted through the ages as a reminder that not everything, perhaps, is so mundane in this world. To some, perhaps, they are a bogeyman, killed by the rise of rationality and science, but nevertheless they are very real, as likely to pass you on the street in certain places as a human would be.
The Aed Kaenë, physically speaking, are very similar to humans. However, they are slimmer in profile and shorter on average, but proportionally differ from the standard human. Their arms tend to be longer as well as their hands, their eyes larger and typically a striking violet in hue, their cheekbones more defined and gaunt than a human's, their nose smaller but slightly hooked, and their ears conspicuously pointed at the tip, and their hair is alternatively a pale white or a deep blue-ish black. A cursory glance might not clue someone into their non-human nature, but any who look closely would see these features jump out as alien and slightly disturbing, though simultaneously ethereal and alluring. Those extremely rare few capable of summoning up the magic of their ancestors in the modern era appear even less grounded in reality, though if pressed for specific traits that make this so, one would not be able to find an answer.
The following table notes the nations the Aed Kaenë have had significant populations in, either historically or into the modern era, the name they are referred to as by denizens of said nation, and the population of Aed Kaenë currently residing in said nation. [THIS IS NOT A FINALIZED LIST, POKE ME IF YOUR NATION HAS OR HAD A SIGNIFICANT POPULATION]

1No exact figure exists for the number of Aed Kaenë currently living in the Stan Yera due to the legal grey area they exist in. While they are afforded the rights of legal residents of the Stan Yera, they are not taxed, nor are they subject to census data. The number given is an approximation.
2The Dubal-Në were a distinct cultural off-shoot that broke with the main Aed Kaenë culture over 5,000 years ago, going into exodus and finding themselves in the Syrixian islands.
