Hello everyone and welcome to poetry from the heart. Here, I'll share with you poetry from the heart of an African(myself) in it's originality and also some of my favourite poems.

Black boy
The colour of my skin is beautiful
Like the black soil of mother Africa
My hair is not soft and wavy
Neither is it long and silky.
For forever, I am African
Black, dainty and proud
No matter where I go,
Be it London, China, or America
I will always be African
Forever black, Forever Proud.

My star
Light of my life
warmth of my soul
i hear the tune of the fife
everytime you hold my hand

From afar i stare
at the light of my star
but i am full of fear
to tell you that i care

Thus ev'ry day i pray
and when i don't crave
to hold you in my embrace
your name on my heart engraved

In my dreams i see
we kiss and hug and kiss
then i open my eyes to see
its morning, end of bliss

Am still watching from afar
still admiring from my heart
cause forever u'll be my star
and u i'll love till i die
