Profile: House Valarun is the oldest houses of Alnaria. Its history predates the the house system itself. Throughout history house Valarun has dominated both the Northern Houses and the Southern clans. In the modern era the House is stronger than ever. The even hand of Fenris has brought Alnaria to prosperity, and the much loved Crown Prince Nurendir is poised to receive the Throne.

The Role of the High King​

The role of the High King of Alnaria has broad powers that are enshrined in article one of the constitution. First and foremost the High King of Alnaria is the Head of State and the Commander In Chief of the Imperial Military. The High King guides both foreign and military policy in the best interest in the Realm. To this end the Monarch may introduce legislation to the Primacy at whim, and Royal Legislation is often respectfully placed first in order on the docket, additionally the High King shares the power to veto legislation with the sitting Primarch. By virtue of the Sovereign's role as Commander in Chief they may also order temporary military action independent of the Primacy. In dire need the High King may also rule by decree, however both independent military action, and High Royal Decrees may be overturned by a 2/3 majority in the Primacy. Though it has never happened, in cases of extreme national emergency the high King may dissolve the Primacy and assume direct rule for a period of no more than six months. Should the Monarch have conducted unlawful action during this time they shall be held accountable to the newly formed Primacy. The High King shall also have the duty of inviting newly elected Primarchs to form a government, and shall open every regular session of the Primacy. The High King in combination with the Warden of the Royal Household agency shall also be chiefly responsible for the maintenance of Royal artifacts and traditions, along with all places and artifacts of historical value to the Realm.

Profile:The Primacy of Alnaria was founded in 1793 and has remained largely unchanged since that time. The leader of the Primacy is known as the Primarch, he or she is elected to seven year terms by the other representatives of the body. Individual legislators are elected to five year terms by local Primacies throughout the Realm. While the High King and the government of the Primarch take care of much of the day to day running of the Kingdom, the Primacy is the prime legislative body of state and wields considerable power. Most importantly the Primacy has the powers of the reigning in the High King and the Power to apportion funds as it sees fit. Rarely does the High King veto a budget passed in the Primacy. The Primacy may also overturn most Royal actions with a 2/3 majority.

The Royal Military

Introduction
​
The Royal Military is robust and multifaceted fighting force tasked with defending the Realm, and furthering its interests abroad. Organized under the Ministry of War and Defense, the Royal Military is subdivided into three branches of service. The Royal Army for land warfare, the Royal Navy for naval warfare and defense of Alnarian vessels in foreign or international waters, and the Royal Air Force for air and space warfare operations. Each of these branches are further subdivided in geographical combatant commands. Each branch also contains a special warfare element under the jurisdiction of the branch of service proper and the Joint Special Warfare Command.

High Command & History
​
The High King of Alnaria is the Commander in Chief of the Royal Military. As such he may order temporary military action by decree, however in order to execute sustained operations the High King must have a simple majority in the Primacy. While the Primarch of Alnaria is ostensibly the highest civilian authority over the Royal Military, the Minister of War and Defense maintains the Armed Forces in conjunction with the Royal Marshal, the holder of the highest military command. The Authority of the Officers of the Royal Military derives from the joint signed commission entrusted to them by the High King and the Primarch. The Authority of Non-Commissioned Officers flows from the Minister of War & Defense.

The Royal Military as it exists today was born directly after the creation of the Primacy. The Royal Army Celebrates its birthday on April 3rd, while the Navy celebrates on April 13th. The Air Force was incorporated as a stand alone branch of service on November 4th, 1955.

Alnaria produced its first nuclear weapon on May 7th, 1961. Following the tumult of the 20th Century Alanrian High Command deemed becoming a nuclear power a necessity for the the security of the Realm, and its continued strength on the world stage. The current nuclear arsenal is maintained jointly by the Royal Navy and Air Force, with Joint Nuclear Command bridging the gap between the two services.

The Imperial Army

The Royal Army is the Kingdom's land war fighting force and was born on April 3rd, 1793. While the traditions of the Army goes back centuries and even millennia before this date, the rebirth of Alnaria and the establishment of the Primacy meant a new beginning for His Majesty's Soldiers. The current Royal Army is divided into the Active Force and Reserve Force components. The Active Force is further subdivided into geographical combatant commands. Under these commands are sub unified commands such as Troop Command, and Logistic Command. The entirety of the Reserve Force falls under the general jurisdiction of the of the 9th Army. Reserve Force Component Soldiers when activated are attached to Active Force Divisions.

The Royal Navy

The Royal Navy as it is today was born ten days after the Royal Army on April 13th, 1793. Since then the Navy of Alnaria has become a cutting edge force, capable of maintaining a global presence. Like the Army, the Navy maintains an Active Force and Reserve Force that operate under similarly structured geographic and fleet commands. Rather than have numerous functional branches however, the Royal Navy divides its Sailors into Surface Warfare, Submarine Warfare, and Aviation Warfare. With the advances in modern naval technology and the advent of nuclear warfare the Royal Navy has become cutting edge, with many of its Sailors and Officers attaining advanced degrees in STEM fields to better help them understand the new electronic age of Naval Warfare.

The Royal Air Force

The Royal Air Force was born on November 4th, 1955 at the behest of then High King Aralan. Since its creation of the Air Fleet has become a high tech and versatile force capable of of supporting any number of combat operation on land or sea. The Air Force is organized in a similar manner to its counter parts, with the exception of the Air Force also having jurisdiction over the civil air lift fleet.

Alnarian Culture & History​

In truth, the history of the Kingdom of Alnaria begins far before the arrival of the Nurlinorians and the raising of the banner of Valarun. In the untold ages of myth the land that would become Alnaria was inhabited by many groups. From the woods of Belithiel, to the deep of Kharzad. From the Plains of Edusled to the Armenalis civilizations rose, civilizations flourished, and civilizations fell. The Nurlinorian voyage from the west signaled a new age in the history of Alnaria. They were to be the land's last arriving inhabitants, but they were to become its greatest. Whatever noble idea, or terrible cataclysm that caused the Nurlinorians to sail to the east has been lost to history, however their coming to shores of Alnaria would begin the creation of great Kingdom, and would write their name in the history of Eras.
