Speaker Artemis Shuts Down TNP Government

Speaker of the Regional Assembly @Artemis has shut down the government in a showdown with Delegate @Pallaith over funding for the NationStates Card Program.

Leftist 'media' such as The Northern Lights praised Artemis, describing her as "Queen Artemis" in its reporting. The leftists were easily impressed with Liberal Artemis for refusing to allow the Delegate to post in the Regional Assembly and saying "no" repeatedly to his request for 500 bazillion dollars in funding for cards.

Leftist propagandist and "journalist" @El Fiji Grande had this to say:

"Not many politicians are able to come up against Pallaith and emerged victorious with their dignity in-tact. How did Artemis do it?"

Nobody is certain if this happened, or if it is even true. Nevertheless, this hasn't stopped the leftist shill Speaker Artemis of being rude and dismissive towards what the Delegate and the representatives of the people that form his cabinet think of her. Speaker Artemis is happy to allow the people to go without cards even if it means a cheap political win.

The Delegate is absolutely committed to NationStates Cards as is his government. So much so that some say this is all that is being discussed in the halls of power. The program promises to provide funding opportunities to support card related projects. ​

The shutdown has put even the most important projects, including re-building the entirety of government infrastructure out of cards and creating an exact card replica of SillyString to preside over the Card Courts has been put at risk by the Artemis shut down.

Less importantly, the Government shut down has led many members of the executive staff hungry and without pay. In response to questions from leftist media outlets, the Delegate said that the people could simply eat cards. This prompted a sharp response from the Speaker.

Minister of Culture @St George Soros defended the Delegate and laid the blame firmly at the feet of the Speaker. On Greitbart's most popular show Hardballz with Plembobria, St George said "There is bipartisan support in the Regional Assembly for the Cards. Billions of dollars for cards was wanted well before Artemis was Speaker. This is just cheap partisanship."

Minister of Defence @Darcania was even more strident in his criticism of the Speaker stating "Speaker Artemis is ignoring the security and future of our region for the political whims of the far left".

The Delegate is reportedly prepared to declare a national emergency and direct all funding from the cabinet ministries to the card program if the Speaker does not give in. When asked by the leftist media if it was true that he had a tattoo of HMS Unicorn's card on his stomach, Delegate Pallaith distracted the reporter by showing them his very large, impressive, and satisfying card collection.

A Statement from the Private Office of Speaker Artemis:

While funding the NS Card Program is paramount, we simply can not allow unchecked and immoral actions take place within the NS Cards world. We must look towards other avenues of supporting the intent of the program rather than the program endorsed by the Delegate. A plan to incorporate further technology, more manpower, and other important things to make the program work and all NS cards the dream that is TNP.

This is sad and disgusting. Nothing but petty partisanship from the brainless left wing. The Speaker needs to end this Catastrophic Shutdown and Secure Our Cards. The North Pacifican people want the Cards. The Speaker and their goons are holding the Executive Staff hostage.

If the Speaker of the Regional Assembly wishes to jeopardize the region, then the Delegate needs to take matters into his own hands and declare a Regional Emergency to stop the Card-itarian Crisis plaguing our region. #TRADETHOSECARDS

This is quite disturbing that our Speaker of the Regional Assembly wishes to shut down the Government over cards. If I was elected, I would had worked with the Del. Thanks to the Speaker, our fellow The North Pacificans will have to suffer and not get cards. They only wanted cards. The people elected Speaker Artemis to serve the people and hasn't proved that at all. #TRADETHOSECARDS
