DSA Solidarity Issue 6

From the Ambassador: I'm sorry that I haven't sent a report to TNP from the DSA in so long. I've only recently gotten into the new TNP forum, and I'm sorry that I didn't get this prepared sooner. That said, this is the sixth issue of the DSA Solidarity newspaper, written and edited primarily by Student Loan Debt. I have removed a number of sections for a lack of relevancy, mainly roleplay. The original version (roleplay and all) is here. I am aware that I do not have not republished the third, fourth and fifth issues: they are linked below, and if so requested I can transcribe them here.

Solidarity Issue 5
As a final note, as it has been a few days since the Solidarity's publication, voting is currently underway for the Cabinet of the DSA and High Judge (the Minister of Immigration and Regional Promotion special election was finished, and Wileyshire, the winner, promptly resigned and was appointed to their previous position, Secretary General; the office of Minister of I.R.P. is ceasing to exist).
That said, let's begin.

Greetings, Comrades

Cabinet Nominations Are Open

Nominations have opened for the upcoming election for the 29th Cabinet. All positions are currently up for nominations. [DSA Members of Congress] can run for
  • President
  • Secretary General
  • Minister of Justice
  • Minster of Domestic Affairs
  • Minster of Foreign Affairs
  • Minster of Role Play
  • High Judge

[DSA Members of Congress] can also run for Minister of Immigration and Regional Promotion. Because Dekks resigned from the position before there were 21 days left in the Cabinet, we need a special election for MoIRP. This would mean that, whoever wins, will serve the position for probably like 2 days. So, we encourage everyone to run for this position.

Featured Five

The MoDA, in the past, has conducted the Featured Five. This is where five random members of the DSA are featured to the region. Say hi to these nations. Learn about them. They're special.

The Empire of Panpania
The Nomadic Peoples of Gronjanda
The Principality of Taigaria
The Commonwealth of Sarvoxlia
The Empire of Alieba
Interview With Gribelt

Our fifth interview is with Gribelt, who is, at the moment of this publication, the sitting Minister of Justice.

When did you first join NationStates? How did you first hear about it?

A long time ago, but I forgot my nation name and login years ago. Rejoined earlier this year because of political discussion in another Discord server leading to us making our own nations.

When did you join the DSA? Were you just looking at regions when you found us or did you come through recruitment telegram?

I just followed Illyrian States and joined the DSA day one

What are some things you've come to enjoy about the DSA most? A favorite memory?

I like the active Discord and the variety of political opinions on it leading to lively debate.

What do you do outside of NationStates? Examples: what your job (if employed)? Hobbies? Talents? etc

I am a pilot.

What made you first want to enter DSA government? What made you want to enter for this cabinet?

124mm10 encouraged me to run for Secretary General while we were talking in voice chat on Discord, so I joined the race and ended up winning.

Who are some people whom you've come to consider good friends in the DSA?

Kyara (Illyrian States), of course, is my best friend and always will be, but I have come to be friends with all the regulars on Discord VC, being 124mm10, Student Loan Debt, Solus Unus, Daophi, etc.

What are your plans for the future in your life? What do you hope to be or accomplish before you die? Or more simply and less macabre, within the next 20 years?

I just wanna fly planes.

Flag Contest Winner

For the past week, there was a flag contest we had here in the DSA where you had to redesign your flag to be spooky themed. This could range from Halloween, Samhain, Dia de Muertos, etc. Five nations entered their flags and were put up to vote. Because no nation received a majority of votes, there was a run-off vote between Student Loan Debt and Korolevia.

The winner of the contest was Student Loan Debt. Their flag is featured below.

Writing Contest Has Begun!

For all of those who missed the art contest, perhaps you can join us in another art contest, but this time it being the art of writing!

The Contest: Create a piece of writing that is spooky and/or spoopy. What does this mean? You can write something scary, something creepy, or something that's just fun and relates to
spooky things (examples: trick or treating, a Halloween party, etc). This can be a short story, a poem, a haiku, whatever kind of writing piece you want to do.

The Prize: The winner of this contest will have their art featured both in the World Factbook Entry and in the regional newspaper, Solidarity.

How do I win?: Once the submission date (October 22nd) [as an Ambassador's note, this issue originally was published before this date] has come to an end, there will be a vote where the contestants will then compete for the prize.

How do I submit my writing?: To submit, post it on the forum thread linked below.
