A Brief Introduction

The Stan Yera is an island nation in the northern areas of Eras currently governed by Federal Premier Sfan K'ter as the sole and authoritarian ruler. Its people are like the land itself, old and hardy, not deigning to bow to any foreign interference. Its history stretches back countless millennia, with the last full five dominated by the Yeran culture itself, rather than the mysterious Aed Kaenë and whatever preceded their occupation of the islands' mysterious and perilously beautiful landscape. The land itself is rich with natural resources, the mountains of the central isle riddled with veins of rare metals with rich stocks of timber spreading across the south, and fish aplenty along the coasts and in the southern bay. This is but a simple guide to an old land that is home to an old people.

Section I: Cartography and Geography

Geographical Overview

The Stan Yera refers to a set of islands, part of a former singular landmass, in the northeast region of the known portion of Eras, and is considered a subcontinent of Craviter. It is composed of five large islands and countless smaller islands that surround the main island, which composes most of the land area and is home to most of the nation's people. The largest island is referred to as Kinnulyâ, and old word roughly translating to "The Crown of the World". The two southern islands are named Gesuṇân (the larger of the two) and C̣acelṇân (the smaller). The largest northern island is referred to as Dwînank'ê, and its two southern neighbors are Halnank'ê, the larger, and Kinnank'ê, the smaller. On the main island itself is a large mountain range that almost bisects the island, running from the northwest coast to the southeast and is referred to as Gâlmed'â, which has no direct translation into Mercanti, while the mountain ranges on the other islands do not share a collective name, rather being defined by individual peaks. Three large freshwater lakes are found in the central region of the main island, being named (from north-most to south-most) ƛekuhṇalâ, G'icehṇalâ, and Uhṇalâ and are largely fed via hotsprings as well as snowmelt from Gâlmed'â.
