Official Statement from the Ministry of Foreign affairs and collaborated by the Ministries of Information and Internal Affiars

Gabriel adjusted his red tie and took a sip of water before approaching the podium with a long sigh.

Today, on May Thirtieth two thousand and eighteen. at around two o'clock in the afternoon. Konigin Alycia confronted and dissolved the Senate of the Norsian Commonwealth on the grounds of pursuing Constitutional amendments without her required presence, Interfering with the affairs of her Krone. Lastly, of the senate being an easily corrupted aristocracy, and a burden to the recovery of the nation.

The Senate is no more and with what instruction has been given to the ministries it is unknown if fresh elections will be called. Until the fallout of this occurrence can be dealt with all executive powers it falls back under Die Krone and the Prime Minister. We are working hard to solve this crisis and to exonerate or prove guilty all suspected Senators, including the ones already charged. Let it be known here that Konigin Alycia has always and continues to have the wellbeing of the Norsian people and the stability of the fatherland as her top concerns above even her own, and we ask the international community to have faith in her and the commonwealth during these trying times.

as for the accused.
Senators Ulrich Leiber, Peter Rott, Rita Sperling, Hanna Shultze. Teodor Korinek, Ivan Nemec, and Anezka Valkova. have all been arrested. their charges are as following and the evidence and testimonies against them are significant, and damning.

Ulrich Leiber, misappropriation of government issued resources. Linked to known Counterfeiting operations.
Peter Rott, Domestic abuse and three counts of aggravated assault. and misappropriation of government issued resources.
Hanna Shultze, Blackmarketeering; Arms dealing.
Anzeka Valkova, two counts of Conspiracy to commit murder in the first degree. Blackmarketeering; Arms dealing, resisting arrest.
Rita Sperling, Conspiracy to defraud. Blackmail.
Teodor Korinek, Two counts of Sedition.
Ivan Nemec, One count of murder in the third degree.

We now await the response of the international community. In the meantime, if members of the press here have any questions, they may ask them now.

Martin Demaret, a reporter for Lodestar News, sat patiently during the conference. While he personally found the dissolution of the Senate to be abhorrent, he maintained his professionalism and wouldn't speak out of turn. He waited until the call was made for media questions, and jumped straight into carrying out his job.

"Mister Dubov, thank you. Martin Demaret from Lodestar News out of Norvalle, Sil Dorsett.

It wasn't too long ago that Norsia came out of its civil war with the Red Laurel Army and established the Senate, and today we see the dissolution of it.

My first question... With only seven senators arrested, for what reason did Her Majesty come to the conclusion that the entire Senate needed to be disbanded, rather than investigations be conducted on individual senators and only those senators guilty of crimes against the state be removed?

Secondly, you mention that it is unknown that elections will be called. Is it constitutionally a Krone Prerogative to subject the nation to one person rule with the senate dissolved, and is it within Her Majesty's right to not re-establish the Senate? Has Her Majesty considered the possible risks in not doing so?

And finally, given Her Majesty's displeasure over the content of the Senate discussions, could the problem have been solved by the inclusion of a Krone official to regulate the topics up for debate rather than dissolving the Senate?"

The Mintorian government makes a statement to Norsian government officials in response to the disbanding of the Senate.

Mercanti translation:
OFFICIAL STATEMENT OF HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY GOVERNMENT

30 May 2018

To the Government of the Norsian Commonwealth,

The Imperial Government has been alerted to the current situation within the government of your country. We are aware that the Senate has been dissolved and the aforementioned charges brought against the Senators. In accordance with this view, we have faith in Queen Alycia's dealings with the situation and trust that you as a government will be able to resolve this issue internally.

As far as the defendants are concerned, we hope that they will be given a fair trial, and if the charges stand, they will be properly sentenced and will be charged with the sentence imposed on them. Again, we wish you to treat the situation as an internal matter.

Regards,

The Right Honourable
Margret Lieselotte Riederer
Minister of Foreign Affairs
His Imperial Majesty's Government

To the Norsian Government

We, the government and constituents of the Commonwealth of Berkowitzia, have taken notice of the actions taken of the Norsian queen to dissolve the Senate of the Commonwealth of Norsia. Though we shall not take direct approach on the matter, we do believe that Alycia has taken things a bit too far when trying to root out supposed corruption within the senate. This is an undemocratic approach to take things, and we dearly suggest to take an alternative approach with this. This decision, however, will be entirely up to Alycia. We hope we can find a solution that works for both Parties.

Signed, Hunter Lentia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Commonwealth of Berkowitzia.
Sent on Behalf of Jennifer Wolfe, ER of the Commonwealth.

Gabriel nodded to Martin and began to speak after the questions were asked, he had decided to keep it as simple as he could given the details.

"As at least some of the international community may know, with the war that was going on crime in Norsia has reached an all time high especially crime in government offices. Her Grace has a profound set of morals and ideals she deeply wants to propagate and protect within the nation. this means the moment corruption reveals itself it must be stamped out and not be allowed to spread or take root any deeper.
On top of this, the Senate was deliberating on Royal affairs with our brethren up north, the Prydanians, and we were even going so far as to put to vote whether to force our konigin to distance herself from their Konig. In this regard, she was protecting her interests. both nationally and personally.

On top of this, the Senate was voting to strike the right to bear sidearms and automatic rifles from the supreme law, which is a guaranteed right by the constitution and requires her personal presence through the entire process. we did not seek, request or demand Her Graces approval or presence and thus the senates actions were wholly illegal.

With our Prime Minister being deposed as well on major criminal implications, all executive power now falls to Her Grace, it is up to her to decide whether to call for fresh elections or not, implement a new system or restore a fairer gentler version of the system of old. and at this time she may amend the constitution if she deems it necessary. Even the ministry cabinet could receive a shake up. I personally have the utmost faith in her abilities to fix this situation, just as she has managed to end a twenty years war to the favor of everyone.

A Krone official to be present and help regulate the Senate would ultimately have been completely superfluous and would clash with the powers and responsibilities of the Head Speaker, to make a complicated answer very short. if we were to do this the Queen herself might as well be in the position of Head Speaker and cut out the middle man."

the lights dimmed a bit and the projector behind Gabriel turned on and he stepped back. Annika Von Ansben took his place and spoke up. "the first responses of the international community have arrived." the projector showed the Cimmerian letter and after a minute or two of reading Annika spoke up again.

"We thank the Cimmerian government for their concerns, we have every intention of keeping this an internal affairs matter come what may of the end result, we do not intend to call for outside help. in regards to the charged, we guarantee in accordance to supreme law they will get fair trials. of that we guarantee."

the projector slid on to the Berkowitzian letter and after a few minutes Annika turned back over with a agitated face.
"With the power vested and entrusted into my station by Her Grace, I say this in full confidence and in official capacity. The Berks have no right to take 'direct approach' to our situation within our borders. Any attempt to force our hand or manipulate us will not incur a kind reaction. Norsia and her people will not stand for empty Berk backhanded threats or insults. We will not sway we will not falter, we will not bend, or kneel. We bring ourselves from the ashes better than ever. You know nothing of how our society, culture and people operate, do not presume to know. we took a page from the book of others and the first draft proved toxic. we will write our own page, with our own words, our own ink and our own paper.
So long as you occupy our ancestral Fatherlands and Lord over our people we will never stop looking at the Berks with anything but contempt. and on behalf of my people I spit on your backstabbing dog ancestors. we will one day see our fatherlands become whole again, it is only a matter of time. Our claim is De-Jure! Your claim is a falsehood!"

Annika pulled back away from the mic and stepped back from the podium, Gabriel stepping forward straightening his tie.
"Anymore questions?"
