Hello, here I am,
standing before you to ask
your vote for Speaker.

(Yes, these are haikus.
Just blame MadJack for this one.
Or maybe Yalkan.)

I will start with this:
My ace qualifications.
First, the obvious:

I've been the Speaker
since November 20th.
But there's even more!

Administrator,
Election Commissioner,
Attorney General,

I've been all of these,
But since I have so few words
Please see my last run.

Failings? Had a few.
But now I can do better.
So let's list my goals.

Since I've learned this job,
Let's get some new Deputies.
I can train them, too.

My core job is set,
but auxiliary jobs need
My attention, too.

RA Digest? Yeah,
Been spotty for me this term.
Let's make it solid.

What else will I do?
Well I can code things (quite well),
I'll improve our code.

Breaking from the haiku so I can talk about what I've coded so far in the past month and a bit.
  1. A Chrome extension to speed up and increase the accuracy of both Speaker and Admin checks - at this point doing both checks and adding new citizens to the registry takes about 20-30 seconds each.
  2. A cog for our Discord bot that will allow members to claim nations, and it will maintain the masking for any political positions by itself. This cog is currently in the testing stage, so I'm still working out bugs for it.
  3. A new counting sheet for the Citizen registry - COE made the sheet itself, and I am working on the code to move the results from that sheet to the main Citizen sheet. About halfway done with this one.
  4. A small utility script in the Citizen registry to generate an admin request based on the sheet, and move / delete rows as necessary automatically. Currently all this does is generate the request.
I hope now, voters,
after you read this platform,
I'll have your support.

Darcania, I feel you've don an excellent job as Speaker since your election. Speaker checks for citizens have been done in a timely manner, there have been no holdups in the RA. I have no doubt you'll continue to prove to be a great Speaker in the coming term, you have my support!

You've got my support Darc, you've really added some draggolightning to how citizenship apps are done :P

Any Dragon dedicated enough to write their platform nearly entirely in Haiku, is with out a doubt dedicated enough to be the Speaker. Good luck Darc :tnp:

You have my support Darcania. I honestly believe Pallaith's theory and one day soon, you'll (almost) follow his path to the Delegacy. For now, you'll continue to do wonderfully as Speaker.

Most likely, yeah, perhaps even before 2019. But until then I'll stick with the Legislative. It's more my style anyway. :P

Hey Darcania. Nice to see that you’re going for re-election.I would like to know why I should vote for you to stay as Speaker. Thanks.

Simple - I have already been effective in this partial term, and I've only improved both my own effectiveness and that of the office since I've started. With a full term, and after gaining experience in the office this past month and a bit, the office will run like a well-oiled machine, especially by the end of my next term.

Looks like you got my vote. Hope you win this one.

Hello Darc!

Where are things that you think can be improved upon in the Speakers office?

Also you have my full support ;)

Thanks for the support, Artemis.

I believe I've fulfilled the goals I've had for this recent term - I've returned the office to being stable, consistent, and active, while learning the ins and outs of the office in preparation for this upcoming term. However, this was focused on the core duties of the office - citizenship, the Regional Assembly, and working with the Delegate in appointing THOs (fun times). Thus more auxiliary duties fell by the wayside, especially during the holiday season and after the NSWF incident, where I had to focus more on my administrator duties.

Thus my goals and what I think can be improved are these auxiliary duties that aren't necessarily required, but are nevertheless important. Most notably is the RA Digest: besides TNL this is the major way to keep citizens up to date on happenings in the RA and keep them aware of it. With this next term I hope to maintain it as well as I have at the start of my term, as well as open it up more to residents. Currently, while residents can access the RA Digest through The Northern Light, and while a post is placed on the RMB, I don't consider that enough of a way to keep up with RA business by itself, especially with how active the RMB is.

I also hope to talk with Pallaith about the Speaker Staff he had implemented during his term. I doubt I'll implement something quite the same as that but by looking at the pros and cons of it I hope to implement an improved version and iterate on it, since I liked its base goals and intentions.

Thanks for the support, Dinoium. :)

(Edit: Turns out a dog pressing a certain combination of keys posts your draft when you're halfway done. Edit 2: removed redundant word.)
