TNP Nation

Some of you may be familiar with the 2017 Stories of TNP idea that was ran during r3n's term as Delegate. It was particularly successful at engaging both our forum RP community and the gameside and I would like to begin a revival of it, however in a different format.

My proposal would be that we run themed months to maximise the output here.

My proposed timeline would be:

October: Leaders of TNP. Factbooks featuring the leaders of nations will be featured in press releases, on the RMB, and in the WFE.
November: Economies of TNP: Factbooks featuring various aspects of the economies of nations within the North Pacific.
December: Militaries of TNP: Factbooks featuring the various militaries of TNP nations will be featured.

A risk is that there may not be enough on a given topic, but hopefully with a template, and an example, we can encourage other nations to write more about their national leaders.

Alternative suggestions are welcome.

What we need in the short term:
  • A Press Release Announcing this initiative and encouraging submissions for consideration.
  • Create a google form for in-game submissions to be added.
  • An example of a national leader factbook that can be featured in the first edition.
  • A factbook template (code) for what a national leader factbook could look like. Could be like a wiki page, a biography, or something else.
  • Start searching TNP nations for factbooks that may be featured and posting them here.
  • An award designed that can be issued to each nation that has a factbook featured

Instead of NS factbooks, which (correct me if I'm wrong) are being used less and less in favor of informational pages in the National Information subforum, at least by us forum RPers, perhaps we could only invite write-ins. Otherwise, I fear the factbook submissions will be dominated by RMB players.

In addition, I'd like to request that we split the Stories of TNP Revival dispatches, when they're released, into two sections- Eras and Non-Eras. We should not confuse our forum RP world with the RMB. Readers will think they are in the same world if we do not note that they're not.

NS factbooks was an example, and it's easy to come up with a template for that, which can encourage further writing. But other formats would be fine for submission. But good point, we should make this clear in the press release.

To your second concern, there will not be separate sections for Eras or Non-Eras. The purpose of this competition is to feature the writing put forward, not which world they operate in. Same as with Stories of TNP - not all nations we featured were on our regional map and indeed we made no mention of which world they belonged to. As it is not relevant.

These are great! Definitely good to know there are a few that fit into the categories I've outlined above.

I will work on the following:

A Press Release Announcing this initiative and encouraging submissions for consideration.
Create a google form for in-game submissions to be added.

Any volunteers for the other tasks?

Okay, I now need as many links to relevant national factbooks/forum factbooks about the following:

1. national leaders, whether it be an individual, council, or whatever.
2. military infrastructure/size/information etc
3. economies
