The Meeting at Drard Airport lasted until 11:00 AM, and the two leaders travelled to Lisledo by midday for a quick lunch and another conference at 12:45. At this conference, the "Lorbank-Kalatun Development Partnership Program" (LKDPP) was announced in full and expanded upon to a variety of Kalatunian and Lorbankian politicians and journalists alike. The aims of the Program (apart from greater co-operation between the two nations), are as follows:

1) - Economy: Abolishing border crossing fees on all roads between Lorbank and Kalatun. Kalatun will establish the "LKDPP Aid Program" to assist areas of Lorbank with lower Human Development, such as Stuece division in the County of Totron, located in the south of Lorbank, as well as the division of Chayna, in Oskua County, located in the extreme north of Lorbank. Kalatun will invest approximately $22 Billion Shilats into central Lorbankian agriculture in return for tax incentives, over a 10 year period. The agriculture in question will include corn, soy, wheat, olive oil, sunflowers, oranges and lemons. Lorbank will begin a $5 Billion Shilat investment, from various Lorbankian companies, to develop a number of ski fields in prime ski areas of Kalatun that have not been developed yet, over 8 years.
2) - Tourism: A bi-national tourism program advertising the other nation will be put in place in both nations. Tourism websites, programs and tours will be created, taught and focussed on attracting and retaining tourists from the respective other nation. Specifically, Lorbankian investment in Kalatunian ski fields will allow Kalatunian tourism to blossom, with domestic tourism, international tourism, but specifically Lorbankian tourism, which the ski fields will be geared to cater to.
3) - Education: Lorbankian schools will have an option and incentive to teach the Kalatunian language. International Studies will be actively promoted in both Kalatunian and Lorbankian high schools and Universities/Colleges. A comprehensive student exchange program, called the "Kungeslei-Thornley Program", named after 1600s Kalatunian theorist/scientist Jobbek Kungeslei, as well as Lorbankian Treasurer under Queen Ebett, Edward Thornley, who advised for greater Lorbankian education.

President signs Anti-Homosexuality Bill

On the 22nd of January 2017, President Leslie Burves signed the bill which was voted by the Parliament on 20th December 2016.

The law is toughening penalties for gay people but without a clause criminalising those who do not report them. It includes life sentences for gay sex and same-sex marriage, but a proposed sentence of up to 14 years for first-time offenders has been removed.
The new law allows life imprisonment as the penalty for acts of "aggravated homosexuality" and also criminalises the "promotion" of homosexuality", where activists encourage others to come out.
Lesbians are covered by the bill for the first time.
Gay activists say they will challenge the new laws in court.

The bill originally proposed the death penalty for some homosexual acts, but that was later removed.

Government officials clapped after Mr Burves signed the bill at a news conference at State House. The sponsor of the bill, MP Moses Herbert, insisted homosexuality was a "behaviour that can be learned and can be unlearned. Homosexuality is just bad behaviour that should not be allowed in our society."

But a gay rights activist in Lorbank told the programme that he was "very scared" about the new bill.
"I didn't even go to work today. I'm locked up in the house and I don't know what's going to happen now."

President Leslie Burves of Lorbank visited the Highton Islands this weekend to have a meeting to discuss important matters with President Alex Calabrese and Prince Diego II. The Lorbankian leader landed at Jefferson International Airport on Saturday in an airport terminal crowded with media and citizens. Burves was escorted to a car which brought him to Georgia Hall, in the Federal District, where previous international meetings have previously been held including the negotiations between Yuri Gorendachushi and Nick Martin took place and ended the Islish War. Prince Diego welcomed Mr Burves inside and the meeting began between the three men, behind closed doors.

President Calabrese came out in a press conference after the meeting concluded and stated: "This was a very successful meeting today. I believe our relationship with Lorbank will continue to improve in the coming months." The Islish embassy in Lisledo has recently opened up and the Lorbankian embassy in Highton City has been completed, located on Lincoln Street.

After the meeting, Calabrese took the Lorbankian president on a tour of Highton City, viewing sights such as the Islish caves, the Four Towers Building, and NPUN Headquarters. Crowds of Hightonians gathered the streets as the parade went through the streets.

At 6:00, the presidents went to Coco's Park to watch an International Friendly Football match between the Highton Islands and Lorbank. The Islish National team, who fell short against hosts Naizerre in the Round of 16 in this years' Northern Cup, managed to pull out a 3-1 win over cup quarterfinalists Lorbank, with two goals from Alexandre Muñoz and a header from Raffy Owen allowing the Cocos to pull off the upset and win the match. The presidents of the two nations watched from the VIP Box as Prince Diego managed the team to the victory.

Overall, the meeting was considered a success as the two nations both are feeling in a good manner and a positive diplomatic relationship between the two Republics is inevitable in the coming months and years.

Seasonal traffic jams on the roads along the Riviera occurs

The increasing traffic jams in Lisledo and Road 1 and 7 became a topic even in the Parliament. Adrian Deresh, the Government Spokesman (Resistance Party) said that the left-winged leadership of Lisledo can be described with astonishing impotence.

jqzPIFD.png

Some reconstruction (like main square, Liberty Bridge) began in the same time, just before the tourist season. To cross Lisledo in northwestern-southeastern bound, it takes 90 minutes on bad days.

kRzi0Rq.jpg

The situation is not better in the countriside... Traffic jams here have two reasons: road renovation on Route 7 and the whole country's population take vacation in the same time in late July. Therefore transit travelling became enormous on the roads.

Oyllymd.jpg

Pass time in the affected cities:
Route 7: Zamardi 35 minutes, 20 in Sepetnek, 50 in Klouis, 30 in Hollad and 45 in Siófok.
Route 1: 40 in Komarom 25 in Topocapi and 60 in Amarillis

Road renovation has started on Route 7 at 5 places:
- outskirts of Lisledo (15-17 kilometre stones): building of turbo roundabouts
- Barackos village (65-68 kilometre stone): new bituminous carpet
- centre of Klouis (128 kilometre stone): new overpass
- Erdobek town (149 kilometre stone): painting of the town's pedestrian crossings
- Alnarian border (249 kilometre stone): building of new border checkpoint

Opposition parties demanded that the government have to start building of new motorways, which can help solve this problem. The government refused this proposal/suggestion because lack of money.
