It was in the early hours of 12th November when Mountbatten Castle, home to the Royal Household, released a statement informing Great Britain that His Majesty King George VI had adopted a son by the name of Alexander IV, King of Britannia, also known as Misael Bartlet. The new adoption comes two months after the adoption of HM Queen Rach of Balder into the Royal Family. Misael, a citizen of Great Britain, has previously served as the Secretary of State for the Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport. Misael now has access to the Coat of Arms and use of the name Mountbatten.

Early November saw two major cabinet changes. Misael G. Bartlet resigned from HM Cabinet from the position of Secretary of State for the Ministry of Culture, Media and Sport, with his deputy, Vaclav Vinograd, replacing him. Another major change to the Cabinet came in the form of an addition, with Elizabeth Winters being appointed as the Attorney General. The move came just two weeks into the term, however, more news came from the Press Office of 10 Downing Street just 6 days later. On 11th November, the Prime Minister, Heidi Mountbatten, addressed the region after what appeared to be a period of inactivity from Cabinet Ministers. The Prime Minister apologised for the inactivity and reassured Great Britain that the Government was committed to activity and ensuring growth and prosperity. The statement was delivered as a 're-start' of the term, which was met with both praise and criticism, and is already showing results. The Home Office and Foreign and Commonwealth Office have been kicked back into gear and are now working towards completing their mid-term goals.

However, upon the resgination of Vaclav Vinograd on 20th November, the Prime Minister was forced to appoint her third Culture Secretary. PM Heidi Mountbatten appointed Arthur Pendragon to be her third Culture Secretary on 23rd of November. Shortly after, Secretary of State for Culture, Arthur Pendragon, appointed his deputy, Uncle Churchill. A day later, the Culture Secretary appointed HRH Prince Constantine, the Prince Royal, to head the Copyright Office.

HM Supreme Court has had a vacancy for quite some time now. However, a few weeks into Heidi Mountbatten's premiership, the Prime Minister nominated Cornelius Talleyrand for the vacant seat on the Supreme Court. If the nomination was approved and then passed by His Majesty and the House of Lords respectively, Cornelius Talleyrand would then become the Junior Associate Justice of Great Britain's Supreme Court. His Majesty, King George VI, approved the nomination and so it went to Parliament for confirmation. The House of Lords, still undergoing the confirmation process, is likely set to approve the nomination unanimously, with Mr. Talleyrand's experience and depth of knowledge being key factors in his favour. It appears that in a few days, or maybe in the next week, that HM Supreme Court will soon fill its vacant seat.

Statement from the Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Edward Windsor MP GCVO
Friends, Allies and fellow Diplomats,

It has been my highest and greatest honour to serve the Kingdom of Great Britain as her Secretary of State for the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, now for my seventh term, but it has been an even greater honour to continue to serve within HM Diplomatic Corps. The Corps, which has been instrumental in ensuring that our message is heard across NationStates, has long served the Foreign Office with professionalism and efficiency. And while it has had the odd bump in the road, HM Diplomatic Corps continues to represent what is best about this British region. Unfortunately, there was a slight hiccup within the Corps when the October Update was dispatched last month and for that I must apologise.

I wish to reaffirm our dedication to maintaining and strengthening all of our diplomatic ties. They are a crucial tool in ensuring that the beliefs and interests of our regions are maintained and projected across the NationStates world. Throughout this term, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office is committed to ensuring that we maintain an active line of communication to you through our Diplomatic Corps as well as through the use of NationStates nations. We hope to release more updates on a more regular basis and hope to communicate directly with your Foreign Secretaries as much as possible. I hope that our regions can continue to strengthen and build upon our diplomatic ties and I look forward to meeting your Foreign Secretaries in the near future.

Thank you for your time and God save the King!

Yours faithfully,

+ Edward Windsor
Foreign Secretary, MP
