My NationState is TheHarambe. The Republic of TheHarambe is a tiny, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its irreverence towards religion and suspicion of poets. The hard-nosed, hard-working, democratic population of 8 million TheHarambeans have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
The tiny government juggles the competing demands of Education, Welfare, and Defense. The average income tax rate is 6.4%.
The TheHarambean economy, worth 546 billion Dollars a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is fairly diversified and led by the Trout Farming industry, with major contributions from Beef-Based Agriculture, Cheese Exports, and Pizza Delivery. Average income is 68,254 Dollars, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.7 times as much as the poorest.
High school principals regularly send armed truancy patrols to drag problem students to school, the nation's image rights are the strictest in the world, mining safety laws are often more expensive than what's being mined, and no one believes anything until it has been strenuously tested and peer-reviewed.
