Let the conversation continue! I'd like to hear opinions on this from some more people and get a conversation going.

I think it would be impractical given a) the complexities of fast-paced modern, esp. urban, warfare and b) our common lack of actual military knowledge.

It would work for ancient and medieval warfare, maybe up to the WWII era.

Of course. All of the battles I've been making these for were alternate history ancient wars. I would favor the graphics I used back in the Great War days for modern warfare.

Those suck at naval combat, though.
