GOVERNMENT NEWS

It's been a time of resignations and appointments. First Premier of the region Gadshack resigned, then he didn't the he did again. Next Speaker of the Regional Assembly DaveIronside resigned before a group of the Regional Assembly presented a reform to the powers of the Chancellorship. This has since passed and is now waiting to take effect. Meanwhile upon his return to the region following an end of exams MatthewVinage has been appointed Foreign Minister. As his first point he has attempted to recruit more active ambassadors to regions TIO have connections with.

ROLE PLAY NEWS (if it's green you can join in)

PROTOA AND VEDURO BECOME PALS Following a series of diplomatic talks the nations of Protoa and Veduro have signed a mutual defence pact which is likely to form the foundations of future co-operation between the two nations. This is a great success for Veduro's new diplomatic outreach.

APSLEY AND KAISERADOLF MEET The nations of KaiserAdolf and Apsley have meet to begin discussions of diplomatic ties between them. The most likely outcome is thought to be a Fair Trade Agreement.

THOSE DAMN FELYSIANS Following the destruction of the majority of their homelands the Felysian people have acquired an ancient battleship and have set off in search of a homeland. Following some poor navigation they ended up in Marseille thinking they were in East Moreland. Meanwhile it looks like religious issues amongst the tribes may cause them a few problems, its only a matter of time until the world spots these mischief makers.

VEDURO AND ACHKAERIN The Veduro Foreign Ministry is certainly earning its money. Its latest diplomatic mission is to Achkaerin following an out reach from the Empire.

MORELAND AND ACADEMICA TALKS The government of Academica have arrived in East Morleand at the Ostlake Games in order to discuss a wide range of matters. After several days of talks they have reached both a diplomatic and economic treaty and there is still a range of matters the guests wish to discuss.

PIRATES SPOTTED Several pirates from Zimalia have taken advantage of a decrease in naval patrols in the Illumic to attack and seize several ships including a cruise ship, a cargo vessel and an oil tanker.

ILLUMIC PIRACY MEETING Following an increase in piracy activity following the collapse of Seaforth the Illumic Channel has become a hotbed of activity for Zimalian Pirates. With several ships already under the pirates control East Moreland have convened an international gathering of regional powers to discuss the matter.

NEW ALBION TALKS Following the collapse of the Union of Nordic People following a meteor strike the Queendom of Lodja has begun talks with several Albion nations designed to try and foster continent wide co-operation.

MERCIAN GENOCIDE The genocide of the Cultists in Mercia has continued with Ui Cenneslaig, East Moreland and Achkaerin being the only ones respond. So far it has seen Prince Rupert of Hassop, the genocides prime organiser succeed his mother to the throne, however a bomb blast in the Palace of Fernwood may have made his reign short lived. An upcoming CTO resolution may bring the Genocide to a halt.

FUNERAL OF WILLA SUNBREK The former leader of the Union of Nordic People, Willa Sunbrek has been cremated. In a ceremony only attended by one foreign nation the former Head of Longhouse was cremated and her ashes thrown into the sea. Sunbrek was one of the most significant leaders in Mundus.

2nd UPPSALA CONVENTION The nations of the world are gathering in Lodja in order to review and approve the Uppsala Convention on the Rights and Responsibilities of those affected by War. The original treaty was signed a year ago in Uppsala however with the collapse of the city the Lodjain Queen has stepped in and offered to host the event.

WAR IN VAIMER Some inter ethnic tensions have boiled over in Vaimer and now troops from the government along with Slavic neighbours are moving into sensitive areas which may blow over into armed conflict.

COMMONWEALTH TREATY ORGANISATION ROUND UP

The CTO has a new Secretary General , Princess Serenity of Achkaerin won an election with the only opponent being a South Hills Business Man. The election however threw up a few shocks as many of Achkaerin's traditional allies abstained from the vote. Meanwhile the first action of the new Secretary General was to bring about the introduction of three permanent members of the Security Council, these were named as East Moreland, Dartfordia and Achkaerin, the last of these causing an outcry from many which has seen the Secretary General announce that one current votes on tabled resolutions go through Achkaerin will resign their seat.

Two major resolutions are due to pass, one will be aimed at stopping the Mercian Genocide and features measures to create a no fly zone and arms embargo against the country. The Second is intended to not recognise the results of the up coming election for High Monarch of Mercia.



SPORTS ROUND UP

FORUMULA MUNDUS The last race saw Sam Halliday of East Moreland take 1st place breaking RCR's strangle hold on race wins as of late. His Rytol team-mate Mark Lindley came 2nd helping the team maximise its points haul. This still leaves Megan Harrison of RCR in first place in the drivers championship with a 17 point lead over her nearest rival and team-mate Z Kennedy.

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE The first two teams have qualified from the group stages of the Champions League. IFK Krokom, the defending champions have gone through from Group E with a so far 100% record. Meanwhile Ivyfield Wanderers have gone through from Group F remaining undefeated in their campaign so far.

MEDIA ROUND UP

ROYAL MARRIAGE OVER It was announced the King David and Queen Matilda of East Moreland are seperating and a divorce looks likely. The pair have been married for five years and have a four year old daughter Rhiannon. The Queen has left East Moreland to go work for OsmanTech onboard a research vessel until things calm down.

PROTESTS IN VIENRA As the sun rose in Vienra this morning, thousands of protestors had already taken over the city. Blocking all major streets into and out of the city, surrounding city hall and the police stations being used as military barracks. The protestors are, of course, angered by the Ardian occupation, calling for a removal of troops in the city. The demonstrators are breaking Interim Governor Lena Caerellius' ban on protests. The Governor has warned that the activists have until nightfall to clear out or face the full consequences of breaking the law. The crowds seemed unfazed, continuing to voice their outrage.

ELECTION RESULTS NAME NEW PRIME MINISTER Veduro have confirmed Juliana Laogano as the new Prime Minister following elections in the country. Firstly it could mean more jobs recently the economy has been in a slump but Juliana has special plans to boost this and it could lead to a stronger Veduro on the world stage

MALSON MILITARY MOVES The Malsonian Armed Forces has officially deployed 12,000 troops in Vaimeria to combat insurgency from slavic rebels, with the 12th Kainagrad Paratrooper squadron arriving south of Vaimeria. With tensions rising before leaking, Malson has been closely monitoring the people among Vaimeria, with 99.5% of the Grand Malsonian Congress voting yay in favor of combating for the government. This military aid was accepted by Vaimeria

QUINNTOPIA CUT BACKS n what is being touted as a "significant development" for the People's Paradise, the War Commissariat announced that the People's Revolutionary Armed Forces will be subject to major cutbacks over the next ten to 15 years.

END OF TRI-LEADERSHIP CLOSE Speaking at the Odinic Council today Nya Alands leader outlined the plans for the immediate future of a now expanded nation. In his speech he spoke about the plans for rebuilding the territories in the former Union. The main focus on his speech centred around international relations and an end to the Tri-Leadership of the government.

SAME SEX MARRIAGE ALLOWED IN APSLEY Following a vote in the government same sex marriage is now permitted in Apsley.

SOUTH HILLS CRITICAL OF SEC-GEN The newly appointed South Hills CTO Ambassador, Jayne Mayweather, immediately blasted the body and its leadership pertaining to the establishment of permanent security council members in a statement before Congress, which had recently appointed her. MEANWHILE Rokkenjima have also been critical of the new Secretary General and there own relationship with Achkaerin. This went as far as calling on a vote to eject Achkaerin from the Cross Straits Union. THIS however was rejected by Dartfordia

INTERNET ISSUES Lakhzovia has finally been reconnected to the global communications network after a severe network failure plunged the country into an information blackout. The crisis was caused by serious damage to the submarine trunk fibre optic cable that provides Lakhzovia's main connection to the global internet

HASSOP CORONATION ince Rupert was today crowned King of Hassop and is now eligible to be elected as High Monarch in 10 days time. The Coronation was carried out by Cardinal Thompson inside the Palace at Fernwood and was witnessed by several hundreds guests as well as being shown on TV. Security concerns lead to the usual Cathedral coronation being ruled out. King Rupert was named as successor by his mother High Queen Victoria and her intention to exclude her two older children, Grace and Robert , from the line of succession.

WAR CRIMES CONFUSION Following the release of a Peninsular War Crimes Tribunal judgement there has been confusion. Several nations claim to have not be consulted on what should have been a multi-national investigation and it has largely ignored the Uppsala Convention system, the international standard for war crime investigation. Meanwhile Achkaerin have also pushed on with a Cross Straits Union investigation into Rokkenjima despite the situation with the international community being against it.
