Greetings from your new Minister of Communications

=====19 February, 2016=====

I am ever so grateful to have the honor of receiving the position of Minister of Communications.
I would like to use this thread as a place where anyone can ask me any questions about me that they would like to know.
I am extremely excited to get to work with the rest of the Ministry as well as the Delegate Lord Ravenclaw
Thank you!

Not to be funny, but who the heck are you?

I have never before seen a cabinet minister with only nine forum posts.

I felt new blood was needed - and someone less focused on the politics and more focused on doing the best damn job they can felt more important. What better way to completely rejuvenate the Northern Light than someone completely fresh and new to it?

He applied for the position, and the Ministry had stood vacant since Cormac resigned early on. He was interviewed, and also supplied a writing sample to the requirements I provided. I was not aware of any other interested parties in this - had someone been proactive enough to approach me first then it's possible they would have gotten the job. Either way, I am pleased how this has proceeded thus far.

The Minister of Communications can and will speak for himself. If you have a problem with the selection made by Delegate Ravenclaw, then that is something to discuss with Lord Ravenclaw himself. I, personally (and obviously subjectively) see no problem with allowing a newer member to accept this position. It just means I'll have to work harder to prove I am fully qualified to withhold this position, of which I was fairly selected upon. I am up to the challenge, if you choose to issue one, Nothern Flemingovia, because I know what I am capable of. Although I request that any other issues of this decision be discussed in a private manner, free from ridicule, and in a professional manner. You will have to excuse my current tardiness to the conversation, as I am currently limited to two-hour interval breaks at work.

I would be a poor public official if when challenged over my choices, I chose to step back and refrain from defending them.

I was not aware that i had ridiculed anyone. Nor did i challenge the delegate's choice. Questioning it is not the same as challenging it. I was expressing surprise.

Your reaction was one of many. Since you've very kindly spoken up and voiced what a good deal many people are undoubtedly wondering, you have provided me with an opportunity to further underline why I've made the choice I did. Although I suspect we are defining challenge differently, I do not see it as a negative event, but rather as a positive opportunity to explain my point of view and reasoning as Delegate.

One day, a long (relatively) time ago, then Pharaoh of Osiris Lyanna Stark, or Earth as she was more widely known, made a little known member of the community Minister of Foreign Affairs. That member would go onto become Pharaoh of Osiris and later Delegate of the North Pacific. In glad I got the chance to work with Lord Ravenclaw back then, just as I am glad to see he has continued similar practices to what gave him his 'break' in gameplay so to speak, with this appointment.

I eagerly await the work this new minister will do.
