Repeal GA Resolution #130- Elections and Assistance Act

Repeal GA Resolution #130- Elections and Assistance Act

Description: APPLAUDING this resolution for its intentions, however questioning the efficacy of said Resolution.

RECOGNIZING that elections and assisted elections are held sacrosanct by many nations around the world and APPRECIATING that sentiment.

CURIOUS as to the funding and implementation of the Organization for Electoral Assistance. Has this advisory body been formed? If so, who is staffing the organization and how can the OEA become more effective at the task it was created for?

UNDERSTANDING that without anything more than observational capacity, the OEA cannot adequately enforce any fraudulent or tampered voting processes/procedures, if observed.

SUGGESTING that the OEA be decommissioned and each nation be given the ability to freely establish whichever electoral system they choose.

SUPPORTING all nations that want to hold free elections, but not at the financial cost and resources of all WA member nations.

A few GA related things you probably didn't know when you started drafting this (and this is my bad as much as anything, since I didn't give you much direction *blushes*) -

1) All funding for GA committees, etc., comes from the World Assembly General Fund, which was established by resolution #20 or so. So funding is covered.
2) The GA uses "automatic compliance" - or, basically, a number of gnomes go into WA nations around the world with each GA resolution that is passed to update your national laws to comply with the passed resolution. As such, the advisory body has been formed, and the staffing is done by gnomes.

If you remove the Curious clause, you should be in better shape, but you may want to expand upon the Understanding clause more. Cite the Article and Section from the original resolution (here) and perhaps even quote it within the text itself.

It's a great start, and - again - my apologies for the delays in responding on this. :)

Thank you very much for the extremely pertinent information! That makes perfect sense as to how the WA laws impact each individual WA nation. That being said, I will heed your advice and get to work on something more robust.

No worries on the delay, we all get busy! Thank you again for the guidance :)
