Created this thread so people may comment on the election as it stands and/or state inquiries to the Election Commission, and also so that the Election Commission may state questions to the Administration about votecounting or such.

I have one such type of question of the questions identified in the OP for the Administration. Corporal Clegg is masked as a citizen and submitted his vote in the election, however the voter rolls do not list him and the General Election votecount document reacts as such, displaying a red exclamation point when I enter his name.

Does this mean he had not been a citizen for at least 15 days at the start of the election as I have led myself to believe, or is this an error?

(EDIT NOTE: Just because this is the first question, don't let the Peanut Gallery thread be all about it. Feel free to say stuff completely unaffiliated with this topic as the OP allows, but only providing it still has to do with this Election.)

If I may, Corporal Clegg's citizenship lapsed before the election, they reapplied on the 5th at 5:17pm (GMT), which was before the commencement of voting, however, all checks were not completed until the 6th at 4:23pm (also GMT), which was after the commencement of voting. Their vote is, as I understand, therefore invalid, due to clause 15 of Section 6.3 of the Legal Code, which reads:
15. A citizen's vote will not be valid unless they maintain citizenship for the entire duration of the vote.
The rolls do not list them simply because Quak hasn't yet added them to the rolls. They, and others admitted after the commencement of the vote will be added to the rolls in time but their votes will not be valid, so Mister Masses is the last citizen listed who is able to cast a valid vote.

So close, Clegg!

Zyvet is, predictably, correct. The ECs should keep an eye out for any other invalid voters, either because their citizenship began after the vote started, or because they lost it before it ended.

Of course, the vote of any citizen who loses their citizenship after the vote ends but before the results are announced remains valid.

Paperwork! :w00t:

And I just realized I'm talking to someone who is near fluent in Latin in Google-Translated Latin. Welp, here we go.

On that topic, GBM. Your vote is uhh... invalid as well. Have you applied for citizenship again?
You can't do that! I need all the votes I can get.
A wise statesman once said to me, "If we make laws to cater to specific people, we end up with shitty laws."

I'm confused. I've been here since Moses was in reeds. How can I not be a citizen?
Your citizenship must have lapsed while you were away.

Great Bights Mum:
Well, at least I wasn't dead this time. But I was gone for 27 days, not 30. I suppose I should take it up with the Speaker.
I think it has to do with forum posts which atleast from what I can see you haven't made for an almost two month period

Are all the voting posts set for moderation approval invalid ballots?

If yes, can you edit them to say "invalid ballot" or sth instead, so that they don't show up in the mod queue?

Taken care of.

I had a feeling we forgot a seal. I didn't even know the Election Commission had one! :tb1:

Regardless, I hereby reopen the Peanut Gallery!

There is an updated version available. It's just that we forgot to update the Election Templates to use the new link:
