In case you can't understand the complete gibberish nonsense I wrote:

Fendrina Quarrovth, the monarch and head of state of Myroria, would like to hold a conference to discuss the non-aligned and small nations - the ones not a part of any major alliance such as the NPTO or DU, or ones that are part of those alliances but feel marginalized by the larger nations.

Her goal is to eventually make an alliance of these small and non-aligned nations in order to create a power bloc opposed to the large Eastern nations that Myroria views as imperialist. A group of equals in a way, grouping their small voices together to make a choir.

Anyone can attend this conference but if your nation has been acting imperialist you may find your normally dominant voice much softer here. Fendrina distrusts the East and the big, powerful, rich nations. Myroria is small and rural, and wants a voice that the DU and NPTO can't give it. I imagine (and I hope) other people feel similarly.

I can also assure anyone who attends that we will not be talking like that letter the whole time. :P

In case my character's letter is similarly obtuse: he's politely asking permission to send representatives to the council and warning that should his nation continue to be treated more like a dominion than a state there will be consequences.

My country is non-aligned and non-imperialist, having pledged our neutrality and condemning interfering in another nation's internal affairs--but we are big, powerful, rich, and the easternmost country in TNP. Most of our country is beyond rural, completely undeveloped and untouched by humans, but out capital houses 32 million in a relatively small area and is so urbanized and technocentric it is virtually an arcology, almost a spaceship. We are also decidedly nonspiritual.

I'll leave it to you if you feel our presence is appropriate.

I thought your capital was Ys, south of Academy City, not Academy City itself.

Also, I'll post my response this afternoon. Syrixia will be coming, since we want to get to know the West more and develop common human understanding rather than the whole East-West biz.

The Lady Protector abides.

All nations are welcome, no matter their wealth, but the Established Peoples are not very trusted in Myroria and Fendrina and her team of hosts may find it hard to see things from your viewpoint. OOCly I can say that opposing viewpoints would help make the story more interesting.

Despite Myrorian distrust of foreigners, Fendrina will show you hospitality. Getting all r/atheism might rankle her party though. ;)

Good to have you.

Wolfsea:
Would it be ok if Wolfsea sent a representative as an observer?

Yes, this would be okay.

Oops! I meant to say our largest city. Although the "Ys" thing is a bit of a joke, since we don't have a traditional sort of government that meets physically on a regular basis; it's an artificial island that's home to Dream Island Amusement Park (like Disneyland, with hookers and blackjack).

We're pretty accepting of however people satisfy their emotional needs; the exception being the Flemingovians currently pooping all over McMasterdonia; we have beef with them.

Wait, so then what's your capital if it's not Ys?

With my newest post I open the thread to arrivals, if you would like to RP them. Some basic guidelines for the Conference once it starts in earnest:

1. I'll leave it open. If you want to show up we can just assume you sent an RSVP earlier. Act like you've been there the whole time or what have you.

2. I'm not going to rush it but if someone doesn't respond after a reasonable amount of time we'll continue with the discussion.

3. Fendrina's end goal here is to make an organization of non-aligned states. This will become IC obvious as the conference starts; if your nation is enthusiastic about this help her out or if your nation is opposed to this try to oppose it. Perhaps IC your nation thinks that non-aligned nations should just pick a side and be done with it.

In general, Fendrina lumps imperialists, Eastern nations, and those who are members of large defense treaties together. Her ideal organization would exclude those who are members of large defense treaties such as the NPTO or Helmebaine from membership. If you agree that there should be a non-aligned movement but disagree with that caveat, RP that as we get deeper into the conference - you get the idea! :)

4. I've seen some confusion and some confusion has been openly voiced to me about this: "Sedera" is the title of the leader of Myroria, whose name is Fendrina Quarrovth. "Queen" can be used interchangeably if you'd like. Her style is Her Majesty.

5. This last one I ask people to do as a courtesy to me - in general, I kind of dislike OOC comments in the IC thread. To the best of your ability try to post those OOC comments here. I understand that sometimes it's just easier to make a remark in the IC thread, and if you'd really prefer not to use this thread I won't be terribly upset about it, but it's just something I like to ask. Thanks in advance for understanding!

Floresque has significant financial influence. Plus you control them too. You should totes invite them; that'd be cool to see.

I thought about this and decided that Floresque would try very hard not to commit to anything. It wouldn't want to associate with anti-imperialists if it would want to lend money to imperialists later.

But they might show up if topics that they would be useful to RP with came up - I'd hate to bring them in at this point without a very good reason though. We'll see, I guess.

Cronaal:
As said on IRC, but now said here so others know, I 90% probably won't actually make a post.
1. Speaking of that, answer muh PM!

2. If you want, we can help you with that. Maybe one of us could write you a post based on a simple summary you tell us?

IC, Vazos would be open to a non-aligned pact, but would also be wary of any organization that attempts to curb its authority over Vazos or its holdings (namely, Quraf and Krespos).

No.
I don't want people writing posts for me.
They won't be mine.
I do them myself or not at all.

Funkadelia may be an Eastern nation, but has repeatedly found itself at odds and exasperated by the constant warfare going on among the dominant powers.

Funkadelia may nominally be an Empire, but it certainly abhors imperialism and this conference will show that.

Then you need to try. Stop hating every single word you type and just type it. Because you may hate it but we certainly don't. Your posts always come out great IMO.

Sorry to bring this here Myroria.

It's okay.

If you're feeling writers' block or a lack of inspiration that's normal to feel sometimes. Forcing it will only make you resent your writing. I don't mind if you feel like you need to sit this one out at all.

I was wondering if I could attend. We're always trying to expand out to the "less developed" nations to get them a foothold on the world stage. Would a few delegates from Xentherida be able to attend the conference?

I plan to have Fendrina formally open the conference either tomorrow night or Sunday. The situation between McMasterdonia and Plembobria will probably be addressed.

Syrixia:
Holy crap, in my latest post I think I just debunked liberalism... O.o
Not quite. You did, however, manage to insult two members of the Vazosi line of succession.

I was never good at international conferences. Moreso making maps, and forming religions, flags and systems of government.

What should I do now?

Cronaal:
Syrixia:
forming religions

You mean ripping off Hinduism. :P
Well what else do you expect Syrixia to believe considering its culture? Animism? Scientology? XD. It was kind of obligatory. Plus it's fun to write about.

The moderator mentioned in my post opening the conference will be gently guiding the discussion (in the direction the Sedera wants it to go, of course). For now I think this should be a frank discussion about the topics he brings up in order to gauge the feelings of the nations of the world towards the organization promoting the non-aligned that Fendrina wants to set up.

For those of you wondering why my Emperor is participating in politics, the 2006 deal stated that the Emperor was allowed to be an advisor of tradition to the Parliament. Under normal circumstances, say not having any political power at all, the Emperor refused to accept. This is the compromise.

I think you ninja'd me? Anyway this is getting a bit confusing :P

We are perhaps dominating the conference chamber a bit too much. They might ask us to shut up.

You call it us being too loud, I call it them being too quiet. This is good, activity-wise. Let's keep doing it.

Rohit:
And I am ashamed that the East did not bat an eye while the Archbishop slaughtered thousands, and yet went on a crazy LSD trip of overexcitement and reaction when Guslantis was couped.

1. LSD doesn't make one manic.
2. Is it the policy of Syrixian politicians to use weird-ass analogies like this? :P
