Administration & Moderation Statement on Recent Matters

Use the Report Function!

The Administration and Moderation team would like to remind members of the importance of the "report" function on the North Pacific Forum. The report function is the appropriate avenue for inappropriate posts, inappropriate behaviour, and other matters to be directed through. If the report function is not used, then it is likely that the admin and moderation team may miss individual or specific issues that might require our intervention.

You can use the report function without fear. You do not need to be 100% certain that a particular post is violating the forum rules. Use common sense. The report function can be used to report thread jacking and other issues that occur, and these posts can be split out by moderators or administrators. An alternative plan of action is for individuals to request that posts be split from a given topic in the moderator request thread here. If the thread in question is a role play thread, then we suggest asking a role play moderator to handle that issue for you.

We do not accept bullying on this forum. We do not accept harassment. We do not accept inappropriate posts or foul language. Forum users must be aware that in a community as diverse as the North Pacific, there will be individuals you do not like, individuals you find annoying, and individuals you do not get along with. This is not an excuse to flame or bully them. Finding someone annoying is not in and of itself a matter that the Administration or moderation team will warn for. Administrators are not serenity police.

If there are issues with individual players violating forum rules or if there are issues with bullying, harassment, or disruptive behaviour, we need to see reports. The report function is available to all to use.
