ARCHIVED: A Topic for When You're Off Topic

I'm starting to worry about the level of inane rubbish being attached to OOC threads in this subforum. These threads become very hard to read when the actual useful information is swamped by posts about, say, forum avatars, or oligarchies of teenage girls.
So whenever you feel yourself drifting off topic, please link to this thread and continue the conversation there, and leave the OOC threads for the discussion of the thing they relate to.

Thank you!

We'll see how this goes. Whilst I firmly believe that chat topics belong in spam forums if it cuts down on spam in other topics then we'll keep this for now.

If it doesn't however, I'll be taking more severe action against spammers.

Nessie, continuing on...

I wasn't intending you to use this for just general chat; rather if something comes up that's not relevant to the topic, post it here. To be honest, avatar discussion probably belongs more in the OOC section, rather than in RolePlay.

I have to say, this thread reminds me of a thing called The Chat Thread from a previous forum I still miss today after it was shut down. A user made the 'Chat Thread' each month and named it something like 'Chat Thread XII: Cronaal Swag Edition' and would then go on from the 1st of the month to the last day before a new thread was made by another user, these users were predecided on. They got a few hundred pages each month until near before the forum closed due to hosting costs.

There's something exactly like that on the NS forums. It's called TET.

Yeah, look at me.
Now your posts are a bit...well, I won't call them concerning, that's rude. I'll say...lacking length. If you want, I can help you to write longer posts.

I'm mentally capable of it, it's just that I'm on my phone about half the time and I can't write up anything really substantial.

:console:

It can be hard to find time to write a long post. I think it's important that we remember that being the most active RPer isn't always the best way of going about it (Not directing this at you by any means, just a general point).

It is okay to spend a bit of time drafting your replies and responses. I also think it is a good idea to coordinate who posts/when, so then you don't have people jump the gun while one person is busy crafting an excellent response.

No, it's split between smartphone and Chromebook. And I do try to make longer posts on the Chromebook, but whenever I'm on vacation, it's all phone and only phone.

Personally?

Two phones, less than £100 each, a tablet gotten free from Sky TV and a PC that's paid monthly. Plenty of mobility.

I live in a fairly liberal city with a large business element.
Lucky dog. I'm a pro-Bernie liberal surrounded, literally surrounded, by republicans. The only non-republican I know is my best friend. Even my siblings are republicans. It's a hard life.

I'm surrounded by annoying socialists/Marxists on one hand and very conservative Republicans on the other.

Well, at least you have some material for Kannex. Unless Syrixia became conservative, I got nothing but myself.

What sort of socialists?

There are soft ones like Bernie supporters, which I don't mind too much, and then there are the Marxists.

<_< Those who still argue for class warfare, preach that ideally *snicker* communism would work (as it never has been, according to them, practiced in its 'true' form), and those who think every single economic depression must necessarily be end the capitalism as we know it and the dawn of a communist revolution... and those who don't understand that the consolidation of property under one authority will, more than occasionally, lead to authoritarianism.

If you hold these beliefs, I hold no quarrel with you. I just don't like your beliefs. You can say the same for mine, which I would say is center-left libertarianism. In fact I don't really mind socialism as an ideology, if it can ward against the encroachment on the individual's freedoms.

I've never seen the point of true communism or Marxism. Go look at my other nation for how I think stuff should be run.

Song for the Syrixia v NPTO.

This topic is becoming used too much already. Cronaal's last post is fine, discussions of politics go elsewhere.

That was not the way around I was expecting.
Note: I didn't intend this for use for random conversation, more as a forum for things that arise on other threads. Please bear this in mind. Not that some of you aren't amusing.
