On the subject of "Peacekeeping Forces"

It seems recently in TNP RP the idea of Peacekeeping Forces has been floating around. It appears that, quite frankly, no one knows what Peacekeepers really are, or what they're for.

Firstly, geopolitically speaking, there is a difference between peacekeeping, peacemaking, and peacebuilding.

"Peacemaking" is the effort to stop conflict in while conflict is occurring.

"Peacebuilding" is working towards conditions that are equitable for continued peace.

"Peacekeeping" is the enforcement of peace agreements after they have already been agreed to, as well as implementing social order and crime in the absence of legitimate governmental authority.

"Peacekeepers" or "Peacekeeping forces" do not prevent conflict, do not engage in conflict, nor intervene in conflict. They only operate in post-conflict areas. By nature they do not represent any national interest, but encourage mutual cooperation.

Not all peacekeepers are soldiers either. Their duties aren't reserved to military affairs. They offer electoral support and enforce laws. Peacekeepng forces consist of civilians, police officers, and soldiers.

I intend recognize this definition of the term "Peacekeeping forces" on the NTPO peace council, and I hope others will as well.

TL;DR Peacekeepers are basically makeshift government authority, including, but not limited to army.

tbh Syrixian Peacekeeping Forces sounds way better than Syrixian Peacemaking Forces.

Than call it an intervention force. Intervening in conflict doesn't make peace appear suddenly. That's a fact.

An intervention force implies that a military force is intervening and fighting in a conflict. Point being, Intervention Forces is too vague.

Countries do not divide their militaries into parts for "making peace" and invading. It's all the same military. Intervening and fighting is exactly what you're "peacekeeping forces" do.

It's his force, let him name it whatever it wants. IC there would be an incentive to call them "peacekeepers" anyway -- it sounds better in terms of PR.

Fighting and making war advances as seen in Rodon- State Assault Federal Forces.

Trying to help people in the midst of conflict, calm things down and minimize damage as seen in Karandin- Syrixian Peacekeeping Forces.
